The whole idea of college drinking is a very complex issue that has evolved in recent years. I study at Arizona University and it has also faced a lot of college drinking problems in equal measure. In this case, the consequences of college drinking are much destructive than it has been initially thought. College drinking has a lot of consequences for students. Most deaths among college students are brought about by drinking. In this case, it is estimated that 1,400 students die every year because of alcohol complications (Baer 15). Wholesomely, there are other rapes and sexual assault cases that have been brought about by drinking. Arizona University has experienced a lot of problems because of college drinking (Arizona State University 12).

This means that the university has had a lot of problems because of this behavior. In this case, the University has always advised students about college drinking knowing the consequences that come with it. As much as most students think that drinking is good for them, it has always affected them negatively. This is as far as various aspects are concerned. We can mostly say that their general studies are affected as a result of drinking alcohol.

In this case, the ham that these students do to themselves exceeds the estimates that have initially been projected. The university has acknowledged that there is a need for good efforts to solve this problem (Arizona State University 27). This is because high-risk drinking is prevalent in this group between the ages of 18 to 26 (Baer 12). The university works with several institutions and organizations like the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse to try and solve this problem.

The enormity of college drinking has been increasing in recent years across most colleges and universities around the US and Arizona University is not an exception. As much as the university is concerned to abut college drinking as a problem, the government and many organizations have also come in to approach this issue as a group. The increment in the number of college drinking students poses a great threat to their health and general well being.

The Taskforce on college drinking of which Arizona University is a member has called for urgent measures from all stakeholders’ to address this issue before it gets out of hand (Arizona State University 18). Arizona University students have been asked to assess their drinking habits for their good. This is based on various negative consequences and impacts that this has had on them.

In this case, it is good to come up with good and effective methods that can be used to limit college drinking as time goes by. Although the issue of college drinking is rampant across the country, it is not abused in all universities and colleges. This means that other institutions have recorded a lot of alcohol abuse than others as time goes by. As far as Arizona University is concerned, most students drink moderately but there have been instances of abuse and this has attracted a lot of attention from the administration. It should be known that around 40% of students binge drink and this has been shifting as time goes by (College drinking 23). In this case, there are five or more drinks in a row. Binge drinking accounts for more than 70% of all the alcohol that is taken by students on campus.

Although the number of students who engage in high-risk drinking might be few, this is a matter of concern for all stakeholders. This includes students, parents, the community, and the administration. In this case, the negative consequences of abusing alcohol include vandalism, assault, and various traffic offenses. Irresponsible drinking of alcohol has had various impacts on the student community because they live in hostels.

In this case, the quality of residential life is greatly affected as time goes by and this should be looked at for long term sustainability (Keen 14). As far as the University is concerned, high rates of drinking are witnessed among incoming freshmen who are always excited about this new life. Most students at Arizona University have not been able to handle their homework because of drinking. This is most prevalent in those students who have occasionally abused alcohol.

Most students who engage in binge drinking are below 23 years. Most of them are members of a given group. The administration has noted that other students are influenced to drink alcohol and this should be avoided at all costs. Risky drinking has made students experience blackouts in the course of study. Other injuries might be either fatal or non-fatal. This means that the university has and should come up with a solution (Arizona State University 22).

Most institutions have been affected by college drinking and this means that solutions that have been proposed should be implemented. Currently, the University of Arizona has come up with research that aims to develop good prevention methods. As much as the college environment might come up with different drinking patterns, this can be reviewed to solve this problem once and for all.

Integrated programs have been proposed to solve this problem as time goes by and this will enable the university to solve this problem that threatens to shake up its foundation. Most students have been urged to acknowledge that alcohol drinking is not the problem but rather the society’s values and beliefs. In this case, students have been urged to change their perception of what alcohol drinking is all about.

As much as such a strategy is bound to receive some resistance, it serves to make students know that they are indeed in college for a different reason other than drinking (College drinking 28). Binge drinking is a result of society’s morals and this has also been instilled in students. The line of communication has also been opened up to ensure that students can be able to communicate with the administration from all perspectives (Arizona State University 12).

Arizona University acknowledges that this is a modern-day problem that needs to be dealt with by all stakeholders. In this case, students need to be involved in all strategies that might be adopted by the administration to solve this problem. Parents and the community have been urged to always relate well with their students and children to help them in issues that revolve around alcohol drinking (Smyth 29). The university has restricted the consumption of other alcoholic beverages in a bid to curb the runaway abuse of alcohol. In this case, the university’s policy on alcohol will be enhanced and reviewed to make it stronger. Residential students are prohibited from the consumption of alcohol.
