The term drugs refer to a very broad meaning, it has become a pat and parcel of people’s lives. Some use it for recreation, some for medication and others use it for spiritual and religious purposes. When used for medication, these drugs have a positive affect on a person’s body and are used to cure an illness, in the case of recreation it can be proved very fatal. Once addicted to it, it becomes almost impossible to quit. People those who have money can afford to go to the rehab centers and get over it, but then there are the others who never come over it, and finally end up giving their lives for the craze called drugs.
Some recreation drugs include cocaine, heroin, and marijuana. Prolonged use of these drugs can lead to serious disorders in the body, ranging from insomnia, appetite loss, improper function of the nervous system and a host of other disorders. It can also cause very serious problems like coma, high blood pressure, severe depression etc. Looking at all these ill effects it is strongly advised not to indulge in drugs at any point in time. Drugs can ruin a person’s life, time and time again this fact has been proved true. The classic example of the same is the star footballer Diego Maradona. He is an addict of cocaine and still undergoes treatment in the rehab centers. The most commonly used drug in the world is tobacco. People take in tobacco in many forms the world over. Some chew it, others prefer to smoke but the ill effects remain the same, no matter in which way it is taken in. It has been scientifically proven that smoking causes a lot of disorders, the biggest of them all are cancer. It causes two types of cancer, one is the mouth cancer and the other is the lung cancer. Both are very fatal and cause death. Taking tobacco in any form causes slow poisoning and kills the person taking it not at one shot but little by little. People who consume it get addicted to it because they believe that these drugs give them relief and provide ecstasy. To get a high people ignore all the ill affects and consume it. Some drugs are used to improve human abilities those drugs are called Nootropics also known as smart drugs. Some nootropics are now beginning to be used to treat certain diseases such as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, Parkinson’s disease, and Alzheimer’s disease. They are also commonly used to regain brain function lost during aging. ( Wikipedia). Even these drugs have side effects so its not advisable to take any kind of drug other then the drugs used in medication and even in that case its advisable to have a prescription of a doctor. Another commonly used drug is alcohol, its very easily available which makes this a favourate among people. The drug causes many ill effects some of them are liver damage, heart diseases, ceartain foms of cancer and serious diseses related to the pancreas. (Steady health). These problems develop gradually and the effect is known only after a few years.
Women may develop alcohol-related health problems sooner than men. Also they are at increased risk, even from drinking less alcohol than men. Because alcohol affects nearly every organ in the body, long-term heavy drinking increases the risk for many serious health problems. Some drinkers develop alcoholic hepatitis, or inflammation of the liver. That comes as a result of heavy drinking over a long period of time. (Steady health).
Drugs are best when used for medication, it can save many a life if used properly but when used for recreation or for that matter any other purpose other than medication, it proves disastrous. Over the past we have had classic examples to prove the same. Ever one must understand and should take a strong decision not to indulge in drugs. These should not even be tried once; even trying it once can lead to addiction. A very simple thing which should be kept in mind is the farther you stay away from drugs, the better.
