Research has shown that, implementation in any given organization encompasses various aspects that are interpreted differently by different managers in a particular organization. For an efficient implementation, studies have shown the importance of statistical thinking because it enhances efficient citizenship which includes the capacity for high level of literacy that enables a manager to access the most up-to-date information that matches the modern technical age. By implication, it is therefore evident that, how the managers understand business statistics influences the future of all organizations as part of business management. In general, a successful manager should be able to take his/her organization through three levels; strategic leadership, managerial role and finally operational level and although this criterion of classification is very general and appears arbitrary, they are all common in that, they require implementation of business statistics where in the strategic level which is the top-most in any organization, statistical thinking play a vital role. Some of the its components include notion of key processes such as measurements and decision making that are based on data analysis as well as how to understand and handle variations using tools of statistics. Outcome of the interview

The candidate has many statistical tools devised to be applied which are actually available and have potential for use in general business and solving organizational problems. However, closer analysis reveals them having not been utilized in the current position held by the prospective manager though he has statistical thinking. The candidate has an understanding of variations in business organizations and he is confident that he cannot embrace any program that is proposed unless he has firm commitment as this according to his argument interferes with the understanding of the managers and causes failure in many organizations. He has capacity to devise systems and implement the directions through the upper management such as tools for robust products and design of processes as well as good control and improvement of the already existing strategies. The candidate is also able to train others as part of his responsibilities with a clear understanding of statistical tools. Such statistical tools include control charting and capacity to analyze data as well as representation of the collected data in a research. He is able to design experiments and analyze systems for measurement such as regression analysis all of which are essential for any prospective manager of any organization. He understands the importance of specialization of both his subordinate and seniors in specific statistical tools. An example is operation of control charts by the employees who are responsible for charting for an efficient process but should not necessarily be excellent in designing experiments. This is opposed to an engineer who has the role of process improvement because he requires both knowledge of various aspects regarding statistic’s control, and capacity to design various experiments. He has a positive attitude in applying statistical tools in any work environment and he believes in spirit of teamwork where he can create an inspiring working atmosphere. He believes commitment in statistical management should be visible and should affect the whole organization. (Gruber, 2000)

As opposed to the traditional approach of statisticians In organization where the key objective was to play consultant role as well as train he employees in handling statistical tools such as process control and experiment design, the prospective manager was found to have a broader role with a positive mind and he understand the importance of teaching across all levels of the organization such as senior managers and engineers as well as operational people. He was able to indentify various roles of statistics such as efficient communication skills as well as good communicators. He is able to keep statistical tools simple with a vision of ensuring added value of the implementers in the organization. He has a well understanding of the system thinking and he is conversant with the modern technology applied in statistics and which can fit the structure of the organization along with the existing culture and appropriate methodology. He is aware that all these components need to be linked so as to enhance their joint functioning. H is able to build and create interaction of the statistical tools in order to bring out positive effects where the total output is above that of the individual components. He understands that, when there is a negative interaction of the statistical tools, total effect is reduced as well as rise of other long term problems in an organization. (Aczel, 2004)

General analysis of the candidates has shown that, he is likely to contribute positive skills and new dimension of knowledge in the organization and future plans under his management will be a reflection of his understanding of the modern knowledge in statistics. He will design programs for training the existing members of staff in their respective areas to meet the need of the business statistics in the organization. A close analysis of his professional document reveals he has held a similar position in a similar organization but he could not deliver effectively despite his wide knowledge in statistical management because the organization did not have all the resources required to implement the knowledge.
