Hu Jintao is the secretary general to the Central committee of the communist party of China and the current Chinese President. This essay will analyze the speech made by him on the 17th National congress for CPC which was held in Beijing at the great hall. He started by the importance of the 17th congress on the stage of development and reformation in China and continued to stress the theme of the congress as that perpetuating socialism with crucial characteristics of China, follow the Deng Xiao Ping theory and applies the scientific perspective of development while continuing to bring closer the mind.
It also persists in reform and the opening up, pursues development in a scientific manner, helps in promoting social harmony while driving for new victories in building an all-round prosperous society. He continued to emphasize the significance of the great banner of Chinese-characteristics rich in the developing and bringing together the various ethnics in China to a common endeavor he continued to appreciate the role of an emancipating mind in initiating Chinese-like characteristics.
China is being transformed to a large extent due to the dynamism of the today’s world this, Jintao says, has brought exceptional opportunities and challenges and to deal with this, he suggests that CPC must hoist great banner of socialism coupled with Chinese qualities and start off the people from this point in history with strategic opportunities to build a successful society which further speeds up the modernization of socialist culture.
While reviewing the work that has been achieved through the CPC governance within the last five years, president Hun Jintao said that people of all the ethnic groups held Deng Xiao Ping theory’s banner with a special thought to three Represents, while overcoming the risks and the difficulties involved and promoting a new sense of socialism in the new Marxist condition currently in China.
During the previous congress the party introduced the thought of three representatives which had a guide and a strategic plan to develop China in virtually all aspects that in order to efficiently carry out these guiding principles, convened a total of seven sessions in which all its decisions concerning the major issues like the reinstitution of institutions, making the better of the market economy, making stronger the governing ability and capacity of the party through those master plan for the period 2006-2007. All the above named efforts by the CPC ended up making great achievements.
His speech had a lot of emphasis to several factors like social development, its impact on the harmony, his general comments on the society, and the image of CPC during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
He also talked about the quake of Sichuan. The highest achievements have been seen in the development of the national security system and the army of which there was a streamlined manner on the deployment of army officers. He added that the current number of tops which has been reduced to 200,000 is more revolutionary, made modern and of international standards which makes them more efficient at work (Martin, 2002). He added that the efforts made by the government to put up a socialist nation bore good fruits and there was a balanced development of the major regions of China.
On social harmony, which president Jintao described as the basic requirement for developing the sense of socialism and Chinese characteristics and release the mind off. He further talked about the hard work the CPC has put to improve democracy and system of legal aspects in which the rebuilding of political system went up very rapidly just as there was a healthy relationship in the co-operation of the government to multi-party for a smooth running of the country through consultations organized the CPC leadership.
