Presently, iPhone 6 belongs to the Stars quadrant since both its market growth and market share are high. According to Canaccord research, which Roger Fingas writes about in his article, iPhone 6 (together with iPhone 6 Plus) remains the top-selling smartphone with the market share approximately 50% (par. 1). Its market growth does not slow either (Pramuk par. 1).
However, with the passage of time, even iPhone 6 can start losing its popularity. The technological development is rapid, and Apple needs to innovate and improve its devices regularly to keep up with it. Otherwise, with still large market share, the market growth will lower, and that will make iPhone 6 the Cash Cow. If the organization does nothing about it, the product will probably move to the quadrant of Dogs.
To avoid this, Apple has to improve its products regularly, eliminating the flaws. IPhone 6, like any other Apple product, has several significant disadvantages. First of all, that is the high price: the organization focuses on the upper class while the vast majority of buyers belong to the middle one. Besides, people start complaining that the company’s products have become too complicated: “The company promises a frustration-free experience. Today’s reality doesn’t match up” (Lashinsky par. 1). A lot of people do not like the closed system of Apple devices either.
