The phenomenon of the administration of justice is rather simple as a concept, yet it may imply the need to manage a range of dilemmas when it comes to the implementation of the key principles. By definition, the process of administering justice must be based on the essential tenets of democracy and the related principles. However, the provision of the impartial trial and an unbiased judgment seems to be rather complicated, which is why I found the identified aspect of the subject matter rather difficult to understand.
For instance, I could not figure out whether the principles of social justice may affect the administration of justice in the courtroom environment. As a result, it was rather difficult to grasp the extent to which the changes in the social perceptions of the members of the justice system affect the administration of justice, and how the representatives of the system prevent their personal interpretation of the justice system from affecting the process of justice administration. In other words, the underlying ethical dilemmas by which the contemporary justice system can be characterized served as the obstacles to building an understanding of how justice administration works.
Some of the topics, however, turned out to be surprisingly easy. For instance, the information related to community policing in the multicultural context was not only easy to learn but also very exciting. Growing up in a multicultural environment, I was quite familiar with the subject matter and, therefore, found the material very easy to learn. The problems associated with the administration of justice in a multicultural society have always seemed important to me, mostly because I live in a very diverse community, and a lot of my friends come from different sociocultural backgrounds.
Therefore, learning about the ways in which crime levels are managed in the context of a multicultural environment was a truly enticing experience. For instance, the information about the issues associated with prejudices and how they are handled by the representatives of the legal force in a diverse community was quite engaging. To be honest, in my community, I often saw a considerable lack of motivation among the representatives of the police to engage in the analysis of the cultural specifics of the residents. As a result, numerous conflicts ensued between the members of ethnic minorities and the law enforcement officers in my community. Therefore, learning about the ways in which the identified problem could be managed was a new and exciting experience for me.
Therefore, the topic of justice administration was comparatively easy to understand. Furthermore, I really enjoyed learning more about how the primary principles of the contemporary justice system are executed. It would be wrong to claim that the material was completely clear and did not raise any questions. Quite on the contrary, some of the aspects, such as the impact of social justice on the implementation of the justice system principles, required a detailed study and very close reading.
However, the very fact that the subject matter sparked so many questions shows that the topic is relevant and essential to the overall understanding of how the contemporary justice system works. The exploration of the topic of justice administration also served as the foundation for studying and analyzing the links between social aspects of the community life and the legal ones. As a result, the mutual effect that the two phenomena have on each other was discovered. Thus, I managed to understand the essential principles of the criminal justice system and the factors affecting it quite well.
