Under this provision, low-income families pay $43 a week for up to 50 hours of childcare, while those with high income pay $126 a week. The current funding sources (namely, federal funding, state funding, and foundation provision) are not sufficient to cover all the needs (Trautmann & Gross, 2015). For example, the federal funding sources are under the Child’s Bureau, which is a branch of the administration of children and families in the Department of Health and Human Services. The source mainly funds child welfare in accordance with the requirements of the federal government (Child Welfare, 2013).
