My search for the article began by determining the database which possesses updated and fresh peer-reviewed papers on the subject of nursing. Specifically, I was interested in the death assistance topic, because I believe it needs more development and regulation. In addition, I used key search words such as nursing, death, medical assistance, aid, and palliative care. I also tried to find recent articles due to the fact that they represent up-to-date data.

The database was SagePub journals, where I had access to numerous articles on the given topic. The main reason for choosing this platform was the fact that it is highly recommended to be convenient to use, and search settings should be easily adjustable (Patten & Newhart, 2018). It also contains a vast number of articles regarding the topic of nursing and its relation to the death assistance. I was always interested in the subject of euthanasia and its regulatory and legislative aspect. The given article facilitated my understanding of medical aid in death and how the procedure is regulated. Although the report provides a full and concise explanation of euthanasia, there are a lot of unanswered questions, such as the ethical role of registered nurses in the process (Pesut et al., 2019). The latter might become the topic of my future studies and research.

In conclusion, it is important to note that MAiD is an outstanding illustration of euthanasia regulation. The analysis of the article allows the reader to understand the role of a registered nurse in the death assistance procedure, and what legislative measures he or she can take to influence the process. In addition, the search for the article taught me to explore my interests by using keywords.
