Change process variations under certain situations

Change is something that can never be neglected or avoided. Even if people do not like changes or do not want to change something, they have to accept it with time because the world is constantly changing and makes each person be changed accordingly as well (Owens, 2015). As a rule, leaders promote changes, and they have to understand the peculiarities of the change process, its moral and other types of purposes, etc. (Fullan, 2001). At the same time, Sharen (2012) underlines that leadership depends on many things, and the dependence on the situation is one of the factors that have to be mentioned. The choice of a model for change depends on a leader, and the leader depends on a situational model chosen in a particular case.

Therefore, it is evident that change, as well as the change process, varies considerably under the situations given and the way of how person is able to perceive a situation and the necessity of change (Hall, 2015). Though the process of adjusting to changes and situations is not always pleasant and easy, people can do nothing to avoid it and have to search for more benefits and opportunities to be available. People should be ready to do much work and think a lot in order to turn the weaknesses in benefits, to overcome the challenges, and enjoy the outcomes. Changes can influence personal and professional growth, and it is hard to predict what kind of outcome to expect. Still, people are always provided with a variety of choices with the help of which they can study a situation, use the obtained knowledge and practice, and enjoy the possibilities available due to a change.

The strengths and weaknesses of a change process when an operating room nurse can be involved in surgical procedures

The role of any operating room nurse is to provide a patient with the required care and a surgeon with the required assistance during an operation. It is very important to take each step perfectly to create an appropriate environment for an operation (Criscitelli, 2014). However, there are the situations when something is dramatically changed, and the whole working process has to be changed as well. For example, an operating room nurse has to be involved in a surgical procedure because of some reason. A number of strengths and weaknesses take place at the same time. On the one hand, it is a good chance for a nurse to demonstrate the knowledge and practice gained, skills developed, and attitude to the work in general.

On the other change, a nurse is challenged by the change in this situation as it is necessary to make direct decisions that influence human life and directly participate in all processes not just to assist (Dunning, 2006). However, the next time this particular weakness may be turned into strength when a similar change is utilized. A nurse will be already aware of the level of responsibility and the activities that are important. Even the change of equipment or instrument should not be a problem. The main benefit of such situational change is practice and understanding of responsibility. A nurse should not only help and promote care. A nurse has to act and react to any change even quicker than a surgeon can in order prove the role of this position in a hospital and in medicine in general.
