Introduction

The word race and ethnicity refers to all natives since they all have their ways of life. This also means that everybody fits into a people group such as Whites, Asians, black because they all have a particular inheritance. Racism and ethnicity come as a result of differences in color, tribe, and beliefs. It mostly happens in churches, learning institutions, workplaces, health care services, and also in politics. In Britain, Africans, mixed heritage, Asians, and the African Caribbean are comprehended as minorities in terms of figures. The Whites in Britain are popular.

To emphasize ethnicity, one has to clearly articulate the concept of the entailments of white citizens and to negatively use it to isolate minority races from whites. As a result, even though it is extensively used, the ethnic minority should be shunned as it places the prominence incorrectly on the ethnicity of African Caribbean and Asian. Africans are considered as the mixed heritage natives as they are merely the ones who have ethnicity. By itself, ethnic minority, for all intentions and reasons implies to someone who is segregated, expelled, and redundant in society, since these terms have occupied grossly negative association for minority ethnic groupings in Britain.

Race/ ethnicity can be dealt with by the whole world through measures such as: acting justly by applying anti-racism lenses in practicing ethical and fair monetary stewardship, by encouraging the full involvement of native and people of a racial and cultural minority at all levels of the church, predominantly decision-making bodies, by speaking out to the world in support of anti-racism and organize for diversities. All these will help cub racism and enhance a world free of racism. We should not simply consider black and minority ethnic natives as people who deserve reverence and inclusion, but rather discard racism as the transgression of segregation, contempt, and isolation, by gripping and appreciating the reality that God’s children intrinsically share in the self-esteem of the Being of God.

Racism is articulated along a linked spectrum, from the informal shameful remark to the brutality of the prison security, from averting skin contact to the starvation of public education in interior towns and reservations, or to the rates of death among babies of color higher than in some developing countries. Racism doesn’t have to be in form of killing, execution camps, or slavery to be general, dangerous yet concurrently treated as of slight significance or as inappropriate by the white majority.

Racism may classify groups in different ways. Class in this case is frequently pivotal. The success that is declared among the Asian-Americans and the Jews is bothered just as it is declared incapable of making good amongst Latinos and African Americans. Several Native American nations which have significantly conflicting cultures and languages are compressed into a general Indian left behind by history. Gender too plays a major role in racism; women with ethnic minorities get credited with pliancy even for the white men to conceiting their special passion for sexual dalliance.

Racism is binary in the United States. One is either a person of color or not. People of mixed backgrounds automatically belong to a minority group of color and are not allowed to puzzle the issue. People whose individual culture and way of life entail ethnicity may be read as symbolic of the majority’s and comparatively over and over again comprehended as betrayers. Racist confidence has tainted to be more elastic and modern racism has shed its genetic totalitarianism (Richard & Allen, 1989). In the contemporary version, the Civil Rights association won, racial disgust is pass, people who are talented now make it.

Facts about favoritism have come from numerous bases, which include the scrutiny of comprehensive employment and housing. The analysis they failed to present entail straight procedures and description power that was offered by paired testing (Smith 1993). In a case study, two persons are coordinated for all related distinctiveness other than the expected one that would lead to favoritism. The individuals applied for a job, an apartment, and the treatment they got were monitored closely. However, despite their power, monitoring test studies have sporadically been mounted over the precedent two decades.

In the workplace sometimes people will talk the language that seems to portray a negative aspect towards the minorities. For instance, when it comes to where the majority are of a given race, they may call you annoying names and the boss may even inhumanly handle the minority even if the minorities are doing an excellent job. For the employees who are foreigners in that country, they may be mocked and be told to go back to their country. Some of the majorities especially the employers will forever be unfriendly to the minorities because of racism. Also in the workplace for instance where there are whites and black or Asians the whites conclude that the Africans are there illegally and can not do quality work hence they keep on monitoring any move that they make.

In politics, the majority denies the opportunity to the minorities to take part in their politics telling them to go back to their countries and participate in their country’s politics. When the minorities participate in the majority’s politics they are compelled to take sides for peace to prevail among them. It is also not easy for minorities to contest for positions in the government because the majority may think that an outsider will take their position. They feel so threatened and use harsh and abusive words to the minorities so that they feel discouraged and give up (Sinnott, 1994). The majority will criticize the minorities by insisting that the minorities left their homes because they are unable to deal with their problems at home hence they cannot deal with the problems in the majority’s home.

Ethnic favoritism can result in ethnopolitical upheaval and interstate clash. Rebellion can be termed as the only consequential connection between ethnic bias and international hostility. A domestic setting of unfairness and hostility leads to a greater probability of using violence internationally. (Ted Gurr 2000). With the higher intensity of favoritism against minority groups is more prone to use force when implicated in an international disagreement, use of control for another feasible basis of state applying of force. Ultimately ethnic discrimination with consideration to racial minorities is likely to display hostility of higher levels and to make use of force primarily when implicated in an interstate disagreement.

In all the case what the middle class has practically observed about racial discrimination and favoritism is that, whatever they do in their surrounding, they are liable to establish social evils in the violation or misconduct of fortified borders between unlike, equally selected ethnic groupings. One ethnic group is said to contaminate the other. The integration of two different groups is alleged to be the basis of the disorder, social perplexity, or an inappropriate homogenization. Virtually this image often is purposed to substantiate either the incorporation or the segregation of definite ethnic groups. Segregation can denote many things, depending on situations: isolation, relocation, repatriation, denial, repression even termination, which is when one is expelled from the planet completely.

When conservationists insist on definite human nature restrictions and when they seem to disregard constructions of the surroundings which differ from their own, these restrictions contributes a lot to the ethnic bias and discrimination. One can do things within some boundaries which he thinks are indispensable to his distinctiveness like transforming the landscape for deliberation and logical study, but others people cannot do what is indispensable to them like to pursue agriculture, construction of community woodlands or even herding animals.

Different measures can be employed to deal with racism/ethnicity and they are as discussed below. Ethnicity/racism is an issue that needs some attention especially in our contemporary society. In other words, some measures need to be considered to control, prevent, or stop this matter. For instance, create awareness among people about ethnicity. Organizations, learning institutions and others should develop programs based on ethnicity, how to handle it, and how to restore justice. Change people’s attitude towards tribalism since this is where it all starts.

Self-discovery and cultural exploration

Among the white Americans matters concerning the responsibility of white American culture in the larger American society will support a conversation that would help solve the problem of ethnicity. This notion operates on the basis that knowledge of one’s culture and racial background is necessary when learning how to relate with people of other cultural and ethnic groups. The duty of establishing reliable and indisputable relations among various diverse cultures is vital to nearly all the states. This also recognizes that class, ethnic, and gender variations are entangled with ethnic ones, and to be investigated on as part of a comprehensive study of cultural and ethnic variation.

At every level of the church, decision-making bodies should be encouraged by easing unbiased participation of all people in decision-making processes in the church. Encouraging efficient participation and making sure that various types of resources e.g. financial, media, and human resources are in place to sustain Aboriginal and First Nations peoples and individuals of ethno cultural and racial minorities as they presuppose these arrangement. Applying and assuming unbiased and just appoint practices, and employment policies. Maintain anti-racism work, endorse positive relations among the varied racial and ethno cultural groups, and maintain racism by, focus e.g. support functions, resources, harmonization, advocacy and anti-racism events, within staff groups at all levels of the society.

Politicians and other prominent people in the society should be on the forefront in fighting ethnicity. These are our leaders, role models who we look upon, they should therefore be good examples to people. The citizens should choose leaders whom they think will lead them appropriately and who will deliver but not because he is from a particular tribe. Encouraging the use of racial, ethno-cultural contexts, and curriculum materials that are set in diverse will help shape the lives of the young generation and as they grow up, they will have adequate information on what is ethnicity and how to handle it appropriately. Giving training and continuing education in the church, work place, learning institutions and any other existing organizations on anti-racism will make people become more informed stop ignoring some important issues in the society like racism.

Use of national languages should not be ignored at all since this is where racism/ethnicity starts. The languages help people communicate with one another efficiently with no barriers, it ensures people from different regions can share ideas and agree. However, this does not mean that individuals should not learn their mother tongue but ensure they learn a language, which they can use to communicate to many if not all. For instance, in America, English is the national language whereby if someone is addressing the public must use it for him/her to communicate with the people and ensure that they understand one another (Kent, 2002). Any other language spoken might cause a misunderstanding or miscommunication.

In institutions like courts and others, availability of procedures and policies to handle conflicts and complains with honor to ethnicity should be developed and publicized accordingly. In addition, creating awareness among people and supporting others be able to access the church and public procedures when rights are violated by acts of racial discrimination. People who have committed acts of racism should be helped for them to realize the sin and change. People should work together towards maintaining or creating fair relationships with persons of ethno cultural and racial minority.

Leaders and other prominent people in the society should advocate, evaluate, and monitor matters concerning rules, practice and policy, and equity legislation and human rights (Schermerhorn, 1978). supervising and responding to racist coverage of both global and local activities, and perspectives and explanation portrayed or not covered by the media, making sure the media either through insinuation or the presentation of facts does not sustain racist attitudes, incite, ignite, or sustain. One of the ways to control or prevent ethnicity/racism could be, providing the anti-racist with a chance to air grievances for those who cannot take action out of fear of justice. Another way could be influencing all levels of the church to converse against human rights contraventions, including occurrences of racial prejudice. Taking part in the wide society plans that major on social fairness and human rights issues gives a clear account.

Conclusion

Racism, as an aware approach is a philosophy that establishes the thoughts and is articulated in categorizing behavior towards given categories in society. So is prejudice and other type of prejudice although maybe not a beliefs, as well as towards society of a different faith, or maybe towards older people, the psychologically and bodily handicapped (Smith, 1993). The unfairness of this state of mind and actions if channeled towards ethnic group or racism or a given gender should be intolerable especially when someone comprehend that belonging to a definite ethnic group the concept of gender or sexuality can portray a misfortune.

It is clear that this type of thought and behavior is not a trait intrinsic in human beings but it is learned. Consequently it is very important that children learn the worth of variety and reverence for and gratitude of difference as early as feasible, and most significantly in the home surroundings and reinforced in the school atmosphere. This is the spirit of pluralism and critical mechanism of the culture of serenity.

For us to establish this type of thoughts and actions, an enabling environment is essential (Benedict , 2004). This implies that authorized reform, transform the attitude of society, and transforming the approach of women themselves. For legal transformation, there is need to discover and eradicate all rules, set of laws and strategies and accomplishment thereof, that may indicate discrimination on the foundation of gender, and particularly towards women of a given race, religious group, ethnic group, indigenous women and underprivileged.

About sexual harassment and rape of women, the present laws and the various court organizations, chiefly in countries in conversion from an authoritarian to a more autonomous regime, are incapable of taking perpetrators to court. If the perpetrators are ultimately taken to court, it is inadequate for the laws and court system to get them convicted, although convicted; they get released with an undeserved light sentence. Generally, the contemporary laws and criminal measures are in many cases completely not sufficient in cases of infringement of human rights. Due to this rationale, in some countries at present, the notion of transitional integrity is being investigated for its relevance in conveying justice in these cases.
