Introduction
This research paper preparing for the millennium endeavors to state my detailed goal for the year 2021. The paper illuminates the amount of effort and resources that am going to invest towards achieving these set goals. The research paper will capture three main areas: the educational plan, the work plan, and the lifestyle plan.
The education plan will elaborate more on where and when I will obtain my education towards achieving my goal. Issues that touch on why I chose the college, where I will take my graduate work, and my source of school fees will feature prominently here.
I will defend why I chose to pursue my education in a given geographic area. With respect to work plan, the research paper will argue in detail why I chose to work in a given area, how I got the job. I will mention the company and its size. Lastly, the research paper will illuminate my lifestyle plan.
In this area, the paper will argue in detail on how I will live my life and why. I will have to talk about my personal inventory, select my marital status, alternative lifestyles, and responsibilities towards siblings and parents.
Education plan
I am currently studying at the De Anza College, a two-year transfer community college. I intend to transfer to the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, where I intend to major in Hotel Management. De Anza College is situated in Cupertino in the Silicon Valley, San Francisco (De Anza College, para 1).
My passion has always been to be a hotel administrator. By transferring to University of Nevada Las Vegas, I will have a chance of doing a degree course in Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration where I will horn my managerial skills. This program is housed in the Hotel Management Department.
I am intending to go to this college because it offers a wide variety of hospitality related courses like vocation ownership, facilities management, security, diversity, organizational behavior, and strategic management among other courses that are important in facility management.
The University of Nevada’s college of Hotel Administration is found in the State of Nevada in Las Vegas. The college is the country’s top two hospitality program destinations. Its location is ideal for learning and career advancement. Students can easily get internship opportunities in its booming hospitality industry buoyed by the presence of wildlife, scenic areas, fishing and hunting grounds.
That is why I have to take my course within the state of Nevada (Nevada Department of Wildlife, para. 3). With regard to financing my education, I intend to pay part of the tuition and living expenses from my parent’s contribution. I also plan to apply for financial aid from the university and from state sources.
This financial assistance will be in form of scholarships and grants. To fulfill the scholarship and grants requirements, I will have to maintain a full-time enrollment and a 12 credit/semester during my undergraduate studies. I also plan to apply for grants to finance my education and be optimistic that the donors will be able to give me some money.
I understand that their monies are awarded based on needs but this will not deter me from trying my luck. With regard to scholarships, I intend to give UNLV online admissions my best shot.
However, I have to score highly on official test scores and official transcripts to increase my chances of getting the grant. After I am through with my first year studies, I intend to start looking for paid internships which will help in paying my living expenses bearing that I am going to study on full time basis (UNLV, para. 1).
Work plan
My family operates a hotel and supplier business and enjoys good rapport with some of the renowned hospitality businesses like MGM Resorts International in Nevada (Walshe, pp. 17). Therefore, after graduation, I intend to work in the family business and integrate the knowledge gained in college into building a big business empire.
Because the MGM is known internationally, being one of their major supplies will push up the family business’ profit margin and make it one of the businesses to reckon with. My resolve to work for our family business and forging relationship with MGM Resorts International will further my career prospects and help in supporting my education.
Issues relating to getting a job will probably not be a major problem to me because my parents have always wanted the services of somebody they trusted fully to run the family business.
In fact, this is one of the major reasons as to why I intend to pursue a management related course at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The size of the family business is still relatively small but there will be growth prospects when I shall have finished my degree course and start integrating whatever I learnt into the day-to-day running of the business.
Lifestyle plan
I intend to maintain a healthy lifestyle by engaging in regular exercise, having time to relax, eating a variety of healthy food most of the time, and getting adequate sleep to give my body time to recover and grow.
By taking part in routine exercise the lungs will get to take in more oxygen that the body badly needs, the heart will work harder to get more blood and oxygen to various parts of the body, the heart and other muscles will become larger, stronger and fitter, the bones will become more stronger and guard against fractures, the waste products will undergo egestion at a faster rate as the food get efficiently processed.
This will leave the body feeling more comfortable. Another reason as to why I will prioritize exercise is to maintain bone mass, improve my joint stability, improve the range of movement, maintain flexibility, and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.
By taking to eating more fruits and vegetables, problems related to bad eyesight, indigestion, vitamin A, C, Calcium, and Iron deficiency will be put at bay. I intend to take more fruits, cereals, and salads. In the coming years I also want to go easy on high fat foods and take fat free dairy (Waehner, para. 2).
My other lifestyle is to partake in philanthropic acts such as volunteering to be a teacher in poor areas of Hawaii like Hilo and Waipahu.
Despite the fact that Hawaii is ranked 5th among states with low poverty levels, the residents of Hilo and Waipahu still grapple with effects of poverty that at times impacts education negatively (Boston 1). Teaching will be another way of giving service to humanity. I also intend to in future travel places like Masai Mara National Park to witness wildebeest migration (African Mecca 1).
Conclusion
Before 2021, I intend to take a business management course to expand my career horizons and help me manage our family business. The course will be funded by my parents, my personal contribution, scholarships, and grants.
I also intend to live a healthy lifestyle by engaging in exercise, healthy eating habits, having enough sleep, and resting. I intend to give back to the community by volunteering to teach in poor areas of Hawaii. Finally, I intend to visit Masai Mara, one of the wonders of the world, to witness wildebeest migration.
