Abstract

The results of the test undertaken to measure my wellbeing have shown that I have reached an impressive level of emotional wellness. However, there are still a few areas to work on. Once the methods of balancing out the negative experiences with the positive ones are located, I will be able to reach complete harmony.

Body

According to the seven dimensions of wellness, I am comparatively safe. Indeed, the social wellness scale shows that I am rather well-adjusted, the physical wellness test results are quite outstanding, and the emotional wellness state is quite satisfactory. The same can be said about career wellness; the test has shown that I am fully aware of my goals, assets, and the means of achieving my dreams.

The intellectual wellness test results can also be viewed as rather positive, with a minor issue regarding risk-taking and learning from the negative experiences. The same can be said about environmental wellness; except for the skill of living in harmony with nature, my emotional development seems to comply with the normal pattern. Likewise, spiritual wellness rates can be viewed as excellent.

A closer look at the test results will reveal that I have to work on my perception of positive and negative emotional experiences. Moreover, I must not delude myself with the idea of striving for positive emotions only. According to the latest researches, people need both positive and negative emotions to reach a state of emotional wellbeing (Rennestad & Skovholt, 2003). Instead of escaping from negative emotional experiences, one must learn to rationalize it and draw essential lessons from their negative experiences.

It should be noted, however, that the process of analyzing one’s emotional experiences and conjuring an adequate strategy for responding towards negative factors is barely possible without emotional intelligence.

Therefore, it will be crucial to retain my inquisitiveness, positive attitude and the ability to move towards the acquisitions to maintain my sustainability which the test results have defined as one of my obvious assets. As soon as I learn to navigate in my own emotions, I will be able to control them, thus, making sure that the balance between the positive and the negative experiences is maintained (Montañés, 2008).

Also, the fact that I must work on my ability to take risks should be brought up. On the one hand, challenging the social norms cannot be viewed as a positive thing to do; quite on the contrary, it is essential to follow the existing moral and ethical principles to live in peace with oneself and the people around (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2009).

However, when it comes to discussing my ability to come up with a unique solution for a specific scenario, I must admit that I tend to act in a rather standard, non-imaginative way. I must learn to think outside the box, which is only possible when questioning authorities and the rules that they set.

Attaining wellbeing is not an easy task; whenever one of the aspects of one’s life is improved, a dozen other issues emerge. However, reaching the state of harmony is, in fact, possible once the balance between one’s personal needs and the expectations of the people around is found. To locate this point of balance, I have gone a long way and seem to have accomplished a lot; even though there are a few areas to work on, my wellbeing seems to be safe.
