Obesity is a major source of concern for many medical workers because it leads to a variety of health problems such as heart diseases, diabetes, or hypertension; moreover, the number of overweight people has dramatically increased within the last decades (Edberg 11). There are several factors that contribute to the problem of obesity; in particular, one can speak about food preferences, the eating habits of parents, genetics, and availability or cost of food (Edberg 11). Schools

To address these problems, one should first focus on schools. The task of educators is show that sedentary lifestyles and poor eating habits can be dangerous for a child. Moreover, they have to explain what kind of food is most appropriate for children or adolescents. Secondly, teachers should talk to parents who sometimes set poor examples for their children by eating unhealthy food. Thus, the main goal is to change the attitudes and behaviors of people.

Medical organizations

Secondly, the problem of obesity requires active participation of medical organizations. They have to help people who have extra weight. In particular, they should show how a person can change ones lifestyle or diet. Their goal is to provide instructions that can assist a person in reducing ones weight.

Youth Violence

Such form of behavior as youth violence can be explained by such factors as social disintegration of family or community, lack of academic achievement, acceptability of aggression, and adverse influence of peers (Edberg 16). This problem requires cooperation of school and other organizations.

Schools

First of all, educators should increase the participation of adolescents in school life. For instance, they should encourage teenagers to take part in extracurricular activities that may be related to different academic subjects. In this way, school administrators can shield students from the negative impacts of peer pressure. Teachers should also demonstrate the complete unacceptability of aggression in school or at home.

Home

Aggressive and violence can be partly explained by the beliefs of parents. These people should pay more attention to activities of their children. For instance, many of them regularly play video games that involve violence but many parents do not pay attention to these activities. They should limit the accessibility of those media in which violence is showcased or promoted.

HIV/AIDS

The spread of HIV and AID takes its origins in the attitudes and behaviors of people. In particular, one can speak about their attitudes toward marital infidelity, unprotected sex, drug use, and so forth (Edberg 18). Medical institutions and schools should join their efforts in order to help people of different ages and sexes. They should explain what kind of behaviors increase the risk of HIV infection and subsequently AIDS.

Medical Organizations

The task of medical workers is to encourage people to undergo HIV testing. The thing is that they can transmit this disease to others without being aware of it. This is one of the strategies to address this problem. Additionally, they should increase people’s awareness about the dangers of mother-to-child transmission, and the risks of sharing syringes.

Schools

In turn, the task of schools is to explain the risks of unprotected sex and drug use, because they are the leading factor that contributes to the spread of disease. Educators should make sure that students know how to shield themselves from the risk of HIV and AIDS.
