SWOT analysis in marketing plan development
While conducting this assignment, I believe that the segment on SWOT analysis was well done. While focusing on this segment of the marketing plan, I managed to apply the knowledge that I had developed in the process of this course and the knowledge that I had gathered from research to determine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
Action plan in marketing plan development
However, from my personal view, I think that the action plan was not developed well. This was due to the lack of knowledge and information that is required to develop an action plan that is effective and efficient.
Skills and Knowledge Gained
While developing this marketing plan, I understood the need of setting goals and objectives. The goals and objectives of an organization are the drivers that determine the overall direction that the organization will take hence its success. It is as a result of these goals and objectives that effective strategies and plans are developed. These strategies and plans are put in place to ensure that the set goals and objectives are achieved within a specified time-period in an effective and efficient manner. With all this in place, the operations of an organization can be closely monitored. However, these goals and objectives need to be simple, measurable, attainable, realistic, and have a timeframe (SMART).
View of Sport Marketing
Prior to the commencement of this assignment, I used to regard to sport marketing as a different form of marketing where the focus was mainly on improving the quality of the sport to attract more fans and as a result, gain more revenue and profits. However, after conducting this assignment, I came to realize that there are several issues that need to be put in place to ensure that thus venture is successful. This was mainly in effective marketing and management. Therefore, I concluded that sport marketing is similar to any marketing activity.
