Introduction

Society is related to humans. The activities of humans do influence and have an impact on society. In different parts of the world, there are different types of societies. The people who share the same geographical area tend to have a similar culture. This is characterized by the relationship between several people. The culture of a society develops from the relationships of individual. In sociology, various sub-fields make up society. These include culture, economy, education, gender, religion, politics, environment, race, and ethnicity. These are among the main factors that influence society.

Societies are identified through their social relations and culture. A society is developed from various organizations conducted by humans. The organizations are mainly related to culture, economy, education, gender, religion, politics, environment, race, and ethnicity. This, in turn, has led to the placement of societies according to groupings. There are four main categories of societies. They include pre-industrial societies, industrial societies, postindustrial societies, and hunting and gathering societies. These societies have evolved with time and reflect on the culture of humanity.

Different Societies

In this essay, the two societies will be reflected and compared. The societies are mainly American society and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) society. The two societies will be used to show the difference in how people strive to get achievements and how difficult it is.

American society has been developing over the years. It is Western culture. Civilization and lifestyle are identified by the history of European immigration. It reflects on ethical values, political systems, belief systems, and inheritance of social standards. The culture of the United States mainly reflects on popular media, food, sports, philosophy, literature, and the arts (Altbach et al. 14).

The United Arab Emirates society consists of a cosmopolitan, multicultural, and diverse society. Society has changed a lot due to the arrival of other nationals and ethnic groups in the country. Dubai is a political territory within the UAE. The culture of Dubai mainly reflects on food, entertainment, and dress, and etiquette (Davidson and Peter 7).

Education Systems in Different Societies

Education is a system or process whereby society sustains its objectives and culture from generation to generation. It takes place as knowledge and skill through involvement and exposure. This has a developmental effect on the lifestyle of people. Society depends on the education system. This is because it influences their actions, feelings, and thinking.

In the United States, education is extremely important. The public sector of the United States mainly provides education. This is supported by the funding and control from the local, state, and federal. Child education is necessary.

In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Dubai mainly, education involves various levels that are meant to provide education for all groups. Schools are accredited by the Ministry of Education. Education in Dubai is compulsory through the ninth grade, but this requirement is not always applied.

Education Achievement Difficulties

The education in the United States and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Dubai mainly, differs because of several factors. The key factor is the population size and growth. The population size and growth of the United States is very large, compared to that of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This has been a major factor, which influences the education system. Education has been influenced by social structure since they relate to each other. The population of the United States is very high and, therefore, causing various challenges in the education sector. The main challenge is the cost and funding for education. The cost of education has been on the rise over the years. The public institutions can accommodate few students, and therefore, the other students who do not make into the public institutions are forced to find admissions in private institutions.

The public institutions benefit from state funds hence the reason they are affordable. The private institutions do not have the state funds and, therefore, the difference in cost. The population size has influenced this since there are people who want to attain a higher education level, but they did not make it into public institutions. Hence, they are forced to join private institutions in order to fulfill their dream. The finances of higher education in the United States have become a major hindrance to the pursuit of one’s education. The issue of finance has forced students to seek student loans. This loan is to assist students in paying their university tuition, buying books, and catering for their living expenses. The loan is meant to be paid later when the student has managed to get employment and income. In the United States, higher education is not highly subsidized. The students and their families subsidize much of the higher education. This is perceived as an investment and not a basic human right (Altbach et al. 74).

On the other hand, the population size and growth of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is relatively small. This has influenced the provision of education to society. The population size is manageable, and the government can afford to sponsor many people. The UAE has implemented higher education standards over the years. This has been through new initiatives, policies, and programs. Through foundations, the UAE has increased teacher training and necessary funding through its annual budget. The UAE has enough resources that can assist its people over the coming years. Since the population size is relatively small, the UAE has fewer graduates, and therefore, it tends to embrace means that can help and encourage its people to attain the necessary education. In the UAE, higher education is highly subsidized by general tax revenues. Hence, higher education is offered to the people free of charge (Davidson and Peter 57).

Conclusion

The worth of education is valid in both nations. American society and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) society benefit from education. Education has proved an essential factor in the development, growth, and advancement of the economy and culture of a society or country. The issue concerning education is its finances. Education has become very expensive, and therefore, the system has faced a lot of criticism. Though education is important, the amount of money and time spent in higher education institutions such as universities has proved not to be worth it. This is because the chances of employment after learning are not guaranteed. Many graduates remain unemployed even after achieving higher education due to a lack of employment opportunities. The amount of money spent on education is very high, and very few employment opportunities pay for high incomes. Therefore, the amount spent can be repaid after a long period of working. However, education is a form of security and is of high importance than the amount of time and money spent.
