Introduction
Human beings encounter numerous challenges and opportunities in life that might dictate the way they pursue their future goals. When adversities emerge, individuals need to remain steadfast and embrace evidence-based strategies to tackle them. Different psychological and philosophical concepts exist and help people examine their past life experiences and make the relevant adjustments. While the completed class exercises and my personal reflections have made it easier for me to identify myself as a “diverger” in accordance with Kolb’s theory, I will consider the applicability of the renewal cycle in the future to find a sense of renewal whenever I encounter difficulties.
Key Thoughts
In the previous paper, it occurred that single parenting was a real test since most of the individuals in such a bracket are required to provide the best for their children. In most of the cases, they will lack the relevant resources and opportunities to transform their dependants’ experiences and outcomes. Affected women are unable to get competitive salaries in comparison with their counterpart men. Personally, I have identified such a scenario as problematic and capable of affecting the future goals of many children. Without proper support and empowerment, most of the single parents become disoriented and might develop suicidal thoughts.
Fortunately, the studied materials and class exercises present powerful concepts and ideas for overcoming stress and maneuvering through most of the life struggles many individuals go through. The practice of examining and addressing challenges from a personalized perspective can help more individuals appreciate situations and consider some of the best ways to overcome (Jobby & Viswasom, 2018). They can also choose to work with colleagues and relatives if they are to record the anticipated outcomes. Many single parents can remain focused and identify the best initiatives that are personalized in nature and are capable of delivering timely results.
The ideas emerging from the completed Life Learning Essay resonate with the results obtained after completing the suggested class activity. Specifically, I observed that I belonged to the philosophy category whereby watching and learning form the basis of my learning process. Single parents going through various challenges can embrace or consider the emerging insights as the first concept for overcoming their life struggles. From the exercise, I realized that I was able to make different observations whenever I found myself in a specific situation. I would then make the relevant adjustments and apply a step-by-step approach to solve some of the recorded challenges (Akhigbe, 2018). Additionally, I would focus on the power of logical reasoning and address some of the emerging issues. This strategy can help more people and I to identify possible challenges, remain prepared, and identify better ways of becoming more resilient.
The second concept emerging from the class materials and the completed personal exercise is that of a “diverger”. Personally, I identify myself as someone who is capable of examining the recorded issues from different approaches or perspectives. I remain sensitive and tend to watch situations instead of being involved. Through such an approach, I am always able to gather the relevant information, solve the recorded challenges, and find my balance. Divergers will examine situations and apply different strategies (Akhigbe, 2018). According to Kolb’s theory, individuals who belong to this category of learners will rely on continuous observations to generate the relevant ideas and brainstorm effectively.
In most of the case, I would prefer to work in groups and consider the recorded cultural attributes. They embrace the power of imagination and emotions to pursue their goals. Eventually, they end up developing a taste for artistic activities and works. They will identify the recorded issues, gather accurate evidence, and focus on the best approaches to develop a wider picture. Consequently, they will find it easier to record positive goals and even overcome some of the predicaments they might be experiencing or going through (Akhigbe, 2018). A single parent who finds reason in considering some of the attributes can be able to come into terms with his or her situation and eventually record the anticipated goals or outcomes.
From a critical perspective, it becomes quite clear that people should be aware individuals should be aware of their present situations, past challenges, and future goals. This practice would also benefit from a detailed understanding of a person’s key abilities and strengths. This knowledge would also entail being aware of the recorded personal philosophy and mode of learning (Katić et al., 2019). The possible outcome is that any given individual will be aware of the existing challenges, the primary causal forces, and some of the best approaches to overcome them. The ultimate aim should be to come up with a superior theory or framework for addressing the predicaments encountered in life and eventually record positive outcomes. Such problems and possible solutions could work effectively for a given single parent experiencing a wide range of personal issues.
Emerging Questions and Issues
These discussions and analyses have catalyzed new ideas and thoughts for helping individuals address their problems. This discussion tries to support the fact that human beings encounter a wide range of challenges that might affect the nature of quality of their lives. The idea of finding a sustainable solution is evidence-based and will support the demands of the greatest majority. The consideration of the issues emerging from the completed works and exercises reveal that struggles in life will always be common (Katić et al., 2019). Using this kind of understanding, it would be agreeable that McLean & Hudson theories are powerful tools that can make it easier for individuals to re-pattern their experiences and overcome some of the challenges they might have to go through.
The Hudson’s theory, also called cycle of change, is appropriate and focuses on people’s lives. The journey of life remains unique and would be characterized by ups and downs (Akhigbe, 2018). People need to be aware of such issues and focus on the best approaches to maximize their strengths and abilities while at the same time overcoming some of the recorded predicaments. Single parents could capitalize on such a concept and consider how they can rely on effective counseling (Katić et al., 2019). A sense of transition will be recorded and eventually make it possible for the identified individual to find his or her balance in life. This information would be applicable in the lives of different people.
The completed activities and essays have presented powerful insights for pursuing personal goals while at the same maneuvering some of the struggles and hardships in life. Through resilience and focus, individuals can identify the causes of their challenges and be on the lookout for opportunities that could transform their situations. The involvement of different partners and friends can help deliver positive or sustainable results. People experiencing various challenges can consider the insights and ideas described above regarding the power of divergence (Katić et al., 2019). Kolb’s theory explains who divergers can rely on their abilities to examine the wider picture and rely on the available information to find meaning. Through such a practice, they will become more creative and focus on better processes to solve most of the challenges they have to go through.
From these analyses, it would not be clear how the concept of emotional intelligence could be applied in difficult situations and help some of the affected persons overcome their situations. In most of the cases, people might become overwhelmed by pain and stress. Single parents encountering difficulties or lacking opportunities will have increased chances of becoming disoriented and lack the right balance in their lives (Jobby & Viswasom, 2018). The power of the emotional intelligence concept will make it possible for them to identify and manage their personal emotions (Jobby & Viswasom, 2018). They will be willing to engage in activities that are capable of relieving stress and internal conflicts. They can interact with other people in an effort to diffuse stress and find new balances in their lives. However, it is not clear how most of the affected people could apply such a concept more efficiently and solve their personal problems.
Future Research and New Concepts
The above analysis reveals that human beings will tend to encounter a wide range of hardships. Existing theories and concepts try to offer evidence-based solutions and approaches that can help the affected individuals recover and eventually achieve their maximum potential. Unfortunately, the present research or information fails to explain how various theories could be applied in specific life situations (Jobby & Viswasom, 2018). For instance, McLean and Hudson theories only apply in the fields of counseling and psychotherapy. The current gap is why professionals or individuals could rely on the outlined concepts and ideas to address most of the situations and become more energized (Katić et al., 2019). Such a situation explains how and why some of the people encountering various problems eventually decide to commit suicide. Without proper support and understanding of these theories it would be impossible for them to re-pattern their lives when challenges recur.
The completed work has led to new thoughts regarding the applicability and effectiveness of the four phases of change outlined in the renewal cycle. From a theoretical perspective, this tool or framework is intended to help mentors and counselors launch sessions effectively and guide their clients towards a sense of direction and/or renewal (Jobby & Viswasom, 2018). In such a theory, Frederic Hudson embraces the power of a holistic strategy to guide personal development and support the intended change. Its use will make it possible for the person in charge to understand the situations affecting the mentee and identify the most appropriate outcomes or results. Individuals facing certain rises and predicaments in their lives would benefit significantly from this model. This outcome is usually possible since the mentor remains collaborative and on the lookout for gaps that might disorient the targeted outcomes.
Unfortunately, many people are still unaware of this tool and how they could integrate it in their lives to transform their situations and eventually record positive gains. Such an issue explains why future researchers and analysts should consider better ways to help more people utilize the framework effectively (Katić et al., 2019). Such a progress will help address most of the emerging problems and guide more people to overcome their personal challenges. The ultimate goal should be to guide and empower more people to achieve their maximize potential after addressing their problems.
These insights and arguments show conclusively that additional research would be needed to learn more about some of the activities completed in class and how they could be redesigned in line with the studied theories. Experts could also complete additional studies to present superior or better models for empowering or guiding more people to overcome their problems. The case of a single parent has been presented throughout this paper to describe some of the personal hurdles many people have to go through in their lives (Katić et al., 2019). The successful completion of the proposed subjects and analyses can help transform the situation and take more people closer to their goals in life.
Conclusion
The above discussion has revealed that human challenges are a common theme in the life of every given individual. Remaining resilient and focusing on some of the ideas studied in class is an evidence-based approach that can help more people overcome their hurdles. The concept of being a diverger and the use of the outlined strategies can take individuals closer to their goals. Additionally, some of the proposed research directions and approaches are timely and capable of helping more people re-pattern their lives and eventfully record positive experiences.
