Introduction
Now, society is experiencing segregation with respect to various characteristics, one of which is economic status. Hence, there is a division between people of higher and lower economic communities, but some must live in poverty. In this case, volunteer work is of particular importance, which significantly facilitates the lives of these individuals and helps specialized organizations carry out their activities. Therefore, economic segregation has a severe place in the life of society, dividing people regarding their wealth and ability to cover their basic needs.
Differences Between Higher and Lower Economic Stratas
The main difference between higher and lower economic communities is the income or wealth levels. Depending on how much the family receives, it can afford not only to cover its basic expenses and desires but also to purchase something more expensive. Lower economic communities, in addition to earnings, also most often have a lower level of education and more difficult access to health services.
The Importance of Volunteering in Addressing Poverty
Due to the economic situation in the country, many people in the modern world live almost near the poverty line. In such cases, volunteer assistance helps, which allows not only individuals in poverty to understand their situation better but also to benefit society, which is always valuable.
Personal Reaction to the Documentary
The “Growing Economy, Miserable Citizens” documentary provides a fundamental realization that people may find themselves in such great need not because they do not earn enough but because they do not have time to adjust to the changing economy (ENDEVR, 2022). My reaction to the documentary remained positive, as I consider it necessary to raise this topic.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the gap problem between higher and lower economic communities is one of the problems of modern society that may take a long time to solve. Its resolution largely depends on the change in the country’s economic system. Volunteer organizations bring people together to support and help those in the most critical situations.
