Introduction
Obstacles in life are things that can prevent a person from progressing in life. Challenges and obstacles can take many forms and can prevent someone from achieving their goal permanently or temporarily. We are bound to encounter destructors in life because we have no control over what happens to us (Boykin & A. W., 2020). One must be determined and have a positive attitude to overcome these destructors. This essay explains the challenges I faced, how I overcame them, and the outcome.
Discussion
My greatest challenge since childhood has been social anxiety. I was an introverted child because of the disturbing encounters I had in my early years. My parents were always fighting, and they eventually divorced. Growing up in such a setting harmed my studies and relationships (Elder et al., 2018). I turned away the few people who attempted to approach me and make friends. My trust issues extended beyond my family members and into my schoolwork which affected my performance.
The phrase “the biggest disappointment is letting yourself down” motivated me to address my anxiety problems. I attended numerous therapy sessions, where my therapists assisted me in determining the source of my issue and how to solve it. After my therapy sessions, I began to trust people, including my parents. I gained the confidence to approach my peer groups and even participate in discussions. I have completed most of my objectives, including pursuing a bachelor’s degree in my field of interest. I still need to work on my anxiety, but I can proudly say that I’ve discovered ways to deal with this challenge.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I can describe my social anxiety as a combination of insecurities, a feeling of negativity, and an error you can never be sure of. All these stood in the way of achieving my personal, academic, and professional goals. My optimistic outlook on the future has kept me going. Many successful people have faced difficulties at some point in their lives. Therefore, challenges help you realize your potential, strengths, and best qualities.
