Slavery
Slavery is any compulsion and enforced labour against the wishes of the person involved (Cooper, 2007). There is no abstract definition of slavery, but some scholar tries to define the term “slavery’ as a social-economic system. Some person is underprivileged of personal freedom and bound to work, known as slaves. “The people who are owned and controlled by others in a way that they lost their rights about freedom, about food, clothing, and about their shelter is known as slaves” (StatCounter, 14 March 2007). “Slaves are held against their will from the time of their capture, purchase, or birth, and are deprived of the right to leave, to refuse to work, or to receive compensation (such as wages) in return for their labor” (Wikipedia, n.d.).
Slavery in America
The history of slavery began in the United States (1619-1865). 1619 The first African slaves arrive in Virginia. So this study can say slavery was started in the USA by an African. In 1787 Northwest made slavery illegal. But in 1793 a person ELI WHITNEY’s invent cotton gin greatly increases the demand of slavery. Nevertheless, in 1808 congress bans the importation of slaves from Africa. And it was also banned in the north of southern Missouri in 1820. In 1822 an African American plans to protest against slavery in South Carolina; he discovered immediately with his 34 conspirators and they were hanged. Again an African American preacher Nat Turner who leads the most significant slave uprising in America made a short launch in Southampton County, Virginia (Decker). The militia quells the revolt and finally Turner was hanged. As a consequence, Virginia institutes much stricter slave laws. In “1831 William Lloyd Garrison begins publishing the Liberator, a weekly paper that advocates the complete abolition of slavery. He becomes one of the most famous figures in the abolitionist movement” (Infoplease, 2008). The Wilmot Proviso attempts to ban slavery in territory gained in the Mexican War In 1846 by introducing Democratic representative in Pennsylvania. The proviso is blocked by Southerners, but continues to enflame the debate over slavery (Infoplease, 2008). The Congress passed the Kansas-Nebraska Act by repealing the Missouri Compromise of 1820 and renewing tensions between anti- and proslavery factions. On the other hand,
the Supreme Court of USA held in the Dred Scott case in 1857 that Congress does not have the right to ban slavery in states and, furthermore, that slaves are not citizens. In 1859, a slave revolt was begun by John Brown and 21 followers. The slavery system of the USA has been abolished by the Thirteenth Amendment of the USA Constitution.
In the above discussion, there is a short story of slavery in the USA. Slavery is not a good profession, it makes the person helpless. A man who is a slaver lost his everything. His control goes to another person, he cannot do anything properly, he cannot eat, cannot sleep, cannot go anywhere without the permission of his lord. They were tortured by their lords. In America, most slaves were black because they were Africans, and they were dominated by the whites, however some Native Americans and free blacks also held slaves.
Treatment of Slaves
Treatment of slaves was very ridiculous. When the Americans purchased a Negro to work, he must be made to work, and should always be given to understand that if he fails to perform his duty, he will be punished for it.
Genovese claims that because the slaves were the legal property of their owners, it was not unusual for enslaved black women to be raped by their owners, members of their owner’s families, or their owner’s friends. Children who resulted from such rapes were slaves as well, as they took the status of their mothers, unless freed by the slaveholder. (Wikipadia, n.d.a)

Slavery and Women’s Rights
Women’s have a good right though they are slaver. Labor oriented work was done by the men and women were for cooking, sewing, midwifery, pruning fields, and many other labor-intensive occupations.
Educational Issues
Many Lords had given opportunity to their slaver for education. Many slavers become educated though they are slaver.
Conclusion
From the preview discussion this study illuminated that slavery is not a good thinking. Declining slavery Americans done good job. There wasn’t good environment among the time (1619-1865) for the slaver. By abolishing slavery in the USA is the sign of democracy and human dignity. And it is also proclaimed in Article 4 of the UDHR (Universal Declaration of Human Rights), 1948 that “No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms.”
