I think that the primary thing I have learned about myself during my exposure to social welfare provision in Canada is that contemporary society is significantly dependent on financial and economic factors. Even though it is not a significant issue that has to be highlighted, it could be one of the drivers that eventually sparked my passion for helping others. With many factors hindering societal growth at the moment, Canadian social welfare should be expected to depend on how various specialists treat their professions and exert their best efforts. The number of opportunities associated with social welfare can be deemed limitless because one can pursue their objective regardless of their worldview. In-depth communication with clients and the willingness to transform theory into practice are the variables that make me believe that social welfare is too important to be ignored when enabling the population.
I am certain that the current experience is going to help me become much more versatile, as social work is multidimensional and cannot be treated lopsidedly. In other words, there are numerous unique populations in Canada that require immediate assistance from care providers. Social welfare is a unique benchmark that can be utilized to develop a closer relationship between healthcare workers and clients without putting at a disadvantage any of the parties involved in the exchange (Bryson & Bosma, 2018). When evaluating my progress, I think I can consider myself moving forward steadily due to acquiring essential skills that will turn me into a better social worker. The increasing number of people in need of social welfare makes it safe to say that we have to take better control over how we monitor the process of care provision. Without taking care of the future, we cannot live in the peaceful present.
The topic of social welfare is important for my worldview because it reflects the need for a community that considers human well-being a decent priority that is worth investigating. From my experiences with social welfare, I have learned that the best opportunity for local residents to benefit from collaborating with care providers is to keep learning and contribute to common health outcomes. Thus, more interventions have to be based on the idea that a mere Canadian citizen has been able to capitalize on cultivating a stronger community and adjusting their lifestyle as expected by care providers. The prevalence of mental health issues among modern Canadians shows how personal experiences could be incorporated into practice to highlight the role of social workers. According to Bryson and Bosma (2018), more interdisciplinary efforts are needed to explain the phenomenon of altering healthcare through the prism of diversity. Thus, social welfare cannot be addressed without enough attention being paid to open-mindedness and the willingness to learn displayed by the local population.
This personal worldview based on diversity and motivation to learn must be cultivated further if I am willing to pursue a successful career. The consistent exposure to vulnerable populations and individuals with unique needs makes me think about how any given community could be improved through awareness. Personal experience cannot be ignored either, proving that social welfare is one of the most fulfilling elements of the state’s socio-economic condition. A strong inclination toward helping others is a learned behavior, and I intend to keep going in that direction to enhance the local community as much as I can.
