When I visited the National Association of Social Workers, I learned that NASW Member Services focuses on human contact. NASW has two missions to ensure effective action: “1) Promote, develop and protect the practice of social workers; and 2) Seek to enhance the effective functioning and well-being of individuals, families, and communities through its work and advocacy” ( Willis & Molina, 2019, p.83). Since 1955, the program has had a mission and a function to provide security for social workers. I have observed that the main clients are social workers and their families, as well as people who have already completed their careers as social workers. The program’s main goal is to raise the work standards and rights guarantees for social workers (Willis & Molina, 2019). During my visit to the organizations in Washington, D.C., it was explained to me that it was created through a merger of seven different organizations that dealt with social work and worker protections.

It seems to me that the organization’s work is essential for equity (Willis & Molina, 2019). During my visit to the organization, I saw that the program works to achieve its goals. It appears to me that the organization is working effectively, which is why I would not change anything. I visited NASW to apply for an internship. Importantly, I was immediately instructed on the rules for communicating with customers, which are based on a code of ethics. The organization protects clients’ interests by providing timely updates on changes in the law (Willis & Molina, 2019). At the same time, they accept and investigate complaints about violations of the rights of public employees.
