Music is a powerful tool globally due to its ability to influence thinking and behavior matters. Music and dance contribute greatly to the state’s social and economic growth; music and dance educate, entertain, warn and inform.
Inspiration Piece
“Rain on Me” song by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande was written and released in 2020, in the United States of America. “Rain on Me” explains achievements through pain and heartbreak (Lugo, 2020). Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande wrote this particular piece to address hardships endured over a decade. Listeners find empowerment and motivation through the lyrics created. Passing through misfortune, such as racial discrimination, motivated the duo to come up with an encouragement to the entire world.
Art Piece
“Dance Monkey” is a dance piece written by Toni Watson, a twenty-six-year gentleman from Australia. Toni utilizes a thumping bassline and plunking keyboard to describe a specific street life associated with musicians (Simkin, 2020). The writer indicates how she has been dancing like a monkey her entire life, meaning that dancing was part of her life. “Dance Monkey” kept people entertained during the COVID-19 pandemic and some even took it as a dance challenge.
The connection between an art piece and an inspiration piece is that both offer encouragement to focus on life positively. Both pieces elaborate on the importance of living a life full of positivity, especially in hard times. Besides, the two pieces of art gained fame during the COVID-19 pandemic season. There is abundant pressure and hardships in life, but it is possible to pull through music and dancing. “Dancing Monkey” and “Rain on Me” respectively explain different occasions like happy life and life entirely or sorrow, human beings should face either of the situations.
