Introduction

With the onset of the Neolithic Revolution, agriculture became the central area of human activity, not hunting and gathering, as was the case during the Neolithic period. Approximately 10 thousand years ago, people learned to cultivate plants and tame animals. It became an impetus for the significant civilizational shift as a settled culture developed (Ygua 13). Many human cultures abandoned nomadism and began to lead a sedentary lifestyle. A turning point in human history became that the surplus of food allowed people to live in large communes and build villages and cities.

Regions of the Neolithic Revolution

Most scientists agree that the first cereals, legumes, and flax crops appeared in Southwest Asia around 8000-9000 BC (Ygua 23). Manufactured foodstuffs have been found in Europe dating back to 6500 BC. The development of agriculture was observed in South and East Asia, Africa, America, and New Guinea. In each region, the Neolithic revolution took place in different ways. For instance, the first coffee was grown in Ethiopia, tomatoes in South America, apples in China, and cucumbers in India.

Impact of the Neolithic Revolution on Human History

The Neolithic Revolution is the beginning and cradle of modern civilization. People will make the first tools – plow and whip, then they will master construction, engineering, architecture, and shipbuilding. The most severe changes will occur in the way of life of people. Gradually, such concepts as the class hierarchy of society, the division of labor, the centralization of power, and private property will begin to form. This will be the start of the formation of armies and civilizations such as the Egyptians in Africa, the Sumerians in the Middle East, and the Antiques in Europe.

Conclusion

Until now, humanity is feeling the influence of the Neolithic Revolution. Although technology has stepped forward, like thousands of years ago, people grow crops in villages to supply cities with food.
