Literal Image
A dove is an animal held with integrity by many religions more than any other bird in the Kingdom of Animalia. A dove has been appreciated to represent gentleness, messages, navigation, devotion, and love. Besides the association of the dove with these meanings, this bird has been taken to represent people’s hope. The incorporation of the dove in religions such as Judaism and Christianity to represent hope has made the animal a universal emblem of other virtues such as faith and joy. The genesis of the association of doves with hope can be traced during Noah’s time, when Noah saw a dove with an olive branch, indicating the cessation of the heavy storm. Today, the picture of a dove carrying an olive branch is applied in situations such as those of funeral art.
Metaphorical Image
The image is of a tunnel whose ending opens to a green place full of trees and beautiful flowers. The image creates hope for anyone suffering because they might be walking in a tunnel whose ending will open to the desires of their lives. Many people fall short of options when undergoing challenges (Matyakupov et al., 2021). For example, the image shows that the inside of the tunnel is dark, but upon its completion, light is experienced where the land is green, full of trees and beautiful flowers. Besides going through challenges and promising an end, the image creates hope after enduring life’s challenges. Irrespective of life challenges, a good life will come after going through the dark side.
