“Travel for Teens” is one of the most famous and best volunteer programs in America for teenagers who have the ambition to grow and change the world for the better. This program aims to draw teenagers’ attention to volunteering, combining it with traveling and adventures. Also, the program’s goal is to develop in teenagers a love for the environment and ecology, as well as the ability to appreciate and protect what nature has given to people.
The success of this program lies in the fact that many teenagers find new acquaintances, immerse themselves in volunteering, and develop a desire to protect the environment. They can combine all this with volunteer trips, which are useful not only for nature but also exciting for themselves. The program successfully combines its activities with environmental protection.
The program is formative, as it aims to find teenagers, bring them together, and form them into a common team. It is also ongoing as “Travel for Teens” creates new opportunities and arranges new trips. The program is participatory, as certain people and teenagers join to make their contribution. It is goal-based, given the aims above. The organization’s program is aimed at conducting volunteer trips. The program is more qualitative than quantitative because it aims not at a large number of trips in the first place but at the quality of the time spent during them. Problem orientation is also a feature of this program (Newcomer, et al., 2015).
