My choice of the film will be the Flash Forward Series created by Brannon Brago and David Goyer. The Flash Forward Series was based on the novel with a similar title by Robert Sawyer. The movie explains how 137 seconds could be challenging for characters like Mark Benford, Dmitri, Lawyer Zoey and rewarding for the character, Llooyd Simoe.

As the series unfolds, the viewer is able to relate the “blackout” in the film to a possible one in real life. The film is able to challenge our preparedness in the occurrence of unexpected or unforeseen incidences. In Flash Forward, the characters are able to give different impressions that various people across the world would give in the likelihood of similar happenings.

It is most likely that different types of viewers would identify with characters in Flash Forward who appeal most to their mannerisms and behavior. Through the characters, the viewer is able to learn of the need to enjoy life. Brannon Brago demonstrates to the viewer that even in a short span of time, the world can change dramatically.

Thematic concepts Flash Forward focuses on a possible occurrence of an event in one’s future. It is very unlikely for one to know about his or her future but the movie expresses the possibility that the present can inspire future happenings. The writer expresses different themes which include life, death, intelligence, security, family and relationships.

Life and death are fears that are expressed by all characters in the movie. Certain characters had seen their future symbolized by lifelike Mark, Olivia, and Stamford. Demetri sees his own death happening in the future. Intelligence and security roles were played accurately by the FBI agents who comprised of Mark, Demetri, and the entire FBI task force. Family and relationship roles were represented by the Benford and Demetri.

Social psychology Social psychology did play a relevant role in the movie. The FBI employed social psychology in their intelligence work. Investigations, interrogations, and analysis of several suspects in the “blackout” were done in conformity to social psychology. The psychological aspects of the film are evidenced in the manner in which the cast plays various roles that are relevant in society.

With the production of the film taking place in 2010, I would recommend that the producers be awarded by the respective authorities in the cinema industry. The fact is in reference to the quality of production, visual content and images created in the film. The message is also well delivered to the targeted viewers. The production of the film involves both the bottom and top factors.

Bottom factors portrayed in Flash Forward include editing, event sequencing, emotional and perception reach, spatial information and cinematic sequencing. Top down factors employed by Brannon Brago in choice of his cast and film development include background information and audience participation with a huge influence on perception and theme comprehension.

Eye movement, visual contact, and event segmentation are also grouped under the top-down factors expressed by Brannon in his artwork. Perception The film generates different stimuli in terms of perception. Flash Forward is an interesting masterpiece and the viewer is kept anticipating for any eventuality.

The producer of the film thus succeeds in creating suspense in the viewer which is an aspect of psychology. The “blackout” is capable of stimulating the viewer and challenging him or her in a familiar way. The viewer will find himself examining his or her life in regard to what happens in Flash Forward. The film’s production in screen and video output is of good quality and creativity thereby making it competitive in the market (Shettleworth, 22).

Characterization A good actor has to embody reality in his demeanor and should be able to connect with the viewers. The viewer needs to feel that the actor is a representation of certain people in society. Brannon and David have demonstrated this aspect through their choice of cast and evaluation of performance. The actors in Flash Forward are able to identify with certain aspects of the environment.

Mark Benford and his colleagues in the FBI are not real policemen but make the viewers believe they are due to the fact that they imitate the actions and character traits of “real” policemen. They are able to bring out the detective aspects of policemen perfectly. Simon, a suspected mastermind of the “blackout” also plays the role of criminal to perfection.

With different characters playing various roles in Flash Forward, the viewer is able to understand the movie’s purposes and content. Interpretation The interpretational aspect is well brought out with reasonable evidence that relates to the daily life of the viewer. Certain characters in the movie are seen to work hard to improve the living conditions for human beings in the world.

Other characters work towards bringing trouble and sadness to humanity as shown by the actions of Suspect Zero in the movie.137 seconds may appear little in one’s life but Flash Forward proves otherwise to the viewer. The director encourages the viewer to utilize the little time in his disposition to make a positive contribution to the world. Visual auditory perception Visual auditory perception in the movie can be rated to be of good quality and satisfactory with sound and image production being creatively delivered.

With its innovative products, the evaluation of all aspects of the film is bound to be commendable. Though the “second season” of the series has not been released to the viewer, the latter will be forced to wait eagerly to watch it. Viewers’ aspects Different types of viewers make different interpretations of what they view based on their experiences, psychological profiles and predictions in any piece of art of which Flash Forward is not an exception.

The first group of viewers is the conservative ones. They are conservative about life because they understand the value of life and the loss that death brings to humanity. The conservative viewers would connect with the film since the theme is well espoused showing little difference between life and death. The two themes are represented by Demetri and his fiancée.

The second group of viewers represents suspicious ones. They always anticipate a bad occurrence (Babey et al, 12). The group is represented by Simon and Suspect Zero who are thought to be the masterminds behind “the blackout”. The final type of viewers is known as the experienced type. This group of viewers is usually aware of what is happening or what is likely to happen in the film.

This group is always ready to appreciate any outcome and to continue with normal life. These viewers are represented by Lloyd who even after suffering from cancer still hopes of finding his fiancee Yuko. Distance is not a deterrent for the two friends. They live with the hope that fate will one day bring them together.

Unpredictability The director of the film successfully managed to bring out the effect of unpredictability in the movie. He used characters to reverse fateful events in the movie thus creating the aspect of uncertainty. Demetri struggled to identify his elusive intended killer. Evidence showed that the probable villain was one of his friends who used Mark’s gun.

The viewer was thus left in suspense by the events that led to the search of Demetri’s enemy. This fact was a good move by the producer that could change the movie’s storyline. Flash Forward in my evaluation remained an outstanding piece of art which needed to be improved by innovative adjustments in its storyline to enhance suspense.
