The genre norms of a conference paper that I tried to model for my essay include the following:

Ultimately, I aim to develop the skills necessary to produce clear, well-organized writing that effectively meets the demands of the rhetorical situation.
In addition to the essay, I also need to write a reflection on my goals in the essay and my process. I must discuss what I learned from this project about writing, research, and myself as a writer (Soler 15). I will also need to identify what process steps I would use for another assignment and why.
Finally, I must identify what I like best about my essay and what I want my instructor to pay special attention to or comment on the given matter. One must also write a reflection on one’s goals and one’s process in the essay. Writing is a process, and we are all at different stages of learning.
This reflection will help me learn from this writing exercise and understand what you were trying to achieve in your essay, enabling me to assess it based on those goals.
