The article has the following ideas that explore the essence of sociobiology. The research on the biological underpinnings of societal behavior in creatures is known as sociobiology (Nickerson, 2022). Sociobiologists place more emphasis on the collective social organism than on individual actions. Since the 1940s, scientists have discussed ideas that are similar to sociobiology (Nickerson, 2022). However, sociobiology entered the mainstream because of Wilson’s work, sparking debate. The origins of benevolence in living things, sexual struggle and competition, and intragenomic conflict are the three main topics of sociobiology. Sociobiologists have made an effort to link studies of creature interaction with Darwin’s theory of evolution.

Of particular interest is the issue of gender inequality that arises from the field of sociobiology. According to the latter, aggression associated with causing psychological or physical harm to another is considered in modern studies as one of the features of a person who focuses on rivalry and dominance, occupying or maintaining a high status. The dominance of men in modern society is ubiquitous and institutionalized. From an evolutionary point of view (Nickerson, 2022), this is explained by the desire of men to control the sexual behavior of women of reproductive age, which is carried out to ensure paternity. Gender inequality also has its origins in the primary differences in reproductive biology between men and women, the greater biological predetermination of women’s behavior in relation to children.

Unfortunately, such an approach seems to contribute to the enhancement of gender inequality within social relations. Many sociobiological investigations are dedicated to confirming the superiority of males over females. A solution here would be to develop sociobiological doctrines that change the perception that men are genetically superior to women.
