Religion is faith-based and can be of different forms. Some beliefs were practiced in the olden days by people and can be considered as a religion. In the modern setting, religion is based on an unseen supreme being who is considered the provider. So that a person ascribes to a certain religion, he/she must have heard a message of conviction. In psychology, it is noted that instilling beliefs in the human subconscious causes them to believe.
This method is used in varied spheres of life including marketing. Religions of the world use teachings to set a base for beliefs. These are passed on to the audience in different forums and media. The growth of religions can be attributed to how humans have come to understand psychology. If the human can relate to the information and they feel comfortable, they tend to subdue to it.
Religion uses assurance in a world where uncertainty is everywhere. Once a person has a feeling of guarantee they tend to be happy and live peacefully. Most faiths have a promise that is the drive to give followers a purpose. Without this, it will be just like any other task in life.

The practice and supplication of the teachings cause religion to thrive. Most of all religious practices have a dogma to which followers attribute their faith. As witnessed by the scholars, there has to be an inner conversion for the religion to appear outwardly. The Christian faith has Jesus as the center of its teachings. The believers have faith in Jesus and what He has done for them. This can be found in almost all religions where a figure is considered the focal point. The teachings are geared towards the consciousness of the being and hence the following.
Although religion is about the unseen, followers tend to follow their goals regardless. This is attributed to the way the teachings are taught and an acceptance by the followers. This can not work if there is no such interaction of the mind and the message. For example, Schleiermacher says that you have to apprehend a living moment. In his case, he based his observation on a poet who sleeps and wakes to make art of what was in him. The looking at inner self allows one to be more in control of what they do consciously. This inner reference is what came to be known as the sub-conscious. The scholar had a real feeling of the way the process operated and insisted that you must capture an alive instant. This is usually an experience that causes you to have faith in the message.
Perception is also used by the believer to base their faith. If one distinguishes a message and acts on it, a feeling is created. This feeling then requires action for the distinction to be fulfilled. Without one of the three steps then there will be no religion. This practice has gone on for centuries giving humans a sense of belonging. This is done by individuals and if imposed can result in resistance. That is why the scholars all share in the self-conviction first. However, not all religions have had a positive influence on society. Some have led to followers being overzealous to the extent of hurting others. It starts with a perception that leads to action and a feeling that is good to them but hurting to others.
On the other hand, a culture of responsibility has been observed in society. People tend to be more accommodating in societies that practice religious beliefs. Some teachings are common to all religions such as care for the family and neighbors by extension. Societies that follow religion and are governed by it have a sense of order. They benefit society by having channels to give help to the needy and services in general. Occasionally, fanatics may emerge causing non-believers to be hurt. This has been detected in societies that are extremists. (Schleiermacher, 1996)
The scholars had a fair assessment of religion. All based their teachings on how the human has to first look inward before accepting a belief. This has given religion more respect and following than any other human activity. Religion has been the bond that joins societies together.
Religion teaches people to love each other and respect other people’s ideas. This has led to peace in many nations that had prior been living in animosity. The needy in our society are now being treated better thanks to religion that has put in place strategies to take care of the needy among us. Though some religions have become overzealous in protecting their faith to the extent that lives have been lost, it remains an accepted fact that religion is a unifying tool that should be embraced by each and everyone in society. Religion is one of the few things in life that can give a human being a sense of belonging.
