It seems reasonable to state that project management is a complex and sophisticated sphere that implies a plethora of specific elements working coherently as a system. The existence of a considerable number of these elements, or project resources, means that there is a necessity to distribute tasks appropriately so that the best performance can be achieved. Given the provided arguments, the expression, “The person who will be responsible for performing the activity should estimate the duration for that activity,” is quite convincing. What is more, this generates significant commitment from the person. The crucial point here is that the individual feels the greatest extent of responsibility for the project’s success if a specific timeframe within which this project should be completed is set by them. Under these circumstances, the person realizes that it is them who will establish the duration, and in the case of the project’s failure due to the term, it will be their liability.
At this point, it will be rational to identify two reasons why there is the importance of the estimation of the project’s duration for one performing the activity. First, when an individual is directly involved in the process of the performance of a particular task, they observe and realize many nuances that top management is not likely to perceive.
