Images in music videos have a big role as they help convey the main message of the work. In some cases, they are used to indicate a problem. This was done in the music video “Lady Gaga – Til It Happens To You,” which raised the issue of sexual violence in educational institutions. In the video “Eminem – Love the Way You Lie ft. Rihanna” images are used to provide a picture of abusive relationships in pairs. On the other hand, images of sex, violence and alcohol consumption do not carry an instructive connotation and are used for a visual component. This can have negative consequences for society, as some individuals may perceive this dangerous behavior as the norm. This is also facilitated by the constantly changing bright picture, which is imprinted in memory (The Locus of Learning and Memory, 1997). It is worth noting that at the moment music videos contain much fewer images of violence and substance abuse. At the same time, they still often contain images of a sexual nature, the main purpose of which is to attract viewer’s attention. In addition, despite the limitation of drug images, consumption of alcohol can also often be seen in popular music videos, which builds an idea of the norm of this dangerous behavior. Thus, it is necessary to carefully monitor how images in music videos can affect people.
