Introduction
About the mentioned subject, I am writing to you a reflective letter concerning my research that was about violence in children and the effects it has on them. I was mainly investigating the violence that is geared towards correcting behavior in children. One main thing I can say is that my research skills have greatly improved. Initially, I could only base my investigations on a particular book or site. I came to learn that sometimes the information that is found on the internet may not be accurate. Therefore, as a researcher, I should learn to look for details in more than one place. It is also important to validate the information that one gets from the internet to make sure that what ends in any of my papers is an almost accurate representation of the issue that I am investigating.
Main text
The various sections of the course were very instrumental in the making of my conclusions and recommendations. I was able to learn diverse issues, and each of them led me to a closer understanding of the topic that we were being taught. For example, I learned that there are many types of violence that a child may be subjected to by adults. Many reasons can trigger These. For instance, sometimes a parent or a teacher may not have a real reason for beating up a child but may do so because he sees no wrong in the act. One may have grown around parents and adults who were violent.
My unique contribution to this topic was that a different approach should be used in trying to expel violence against children. Usually, people have concentrated on trying to find alternative ways of disciplining children or trying to protect the children from the adults that violate their human rights. No one has thought about the fact that there is a chance that these adults also need to be catered for. More investigation should be made for why they resort to violence. This will, therefore, find ways of eliminating the various issues they are facing by making them adapt easily to the new and less dangerous ways of correcting and relating with their children.
The effects of violence on children are my topic that I did this semester, and I consider it a debatable issue. It was an instrumental subject because many societies out here feel that the only way that a child can be corrected is through violence. Many of them have failed to notice that while this may seem to be a solution at that time, the negative effects that it has on a child are irreparable when it gets to a certain level. Thus, this kind of information must be used in sensitizing parents to protect their children from people who may harm them knowingly or otherwise.
Different units that I have done in the semester were of great help to me. It has eased my full integration of research studies, especially the research methodology unit. Other units gave me clues on both individual and societal backgrounds together with their opinionated results. Hence, I would say that all units done throughout the semester were positively fostered by concrete conclusions on the topic I studied.
Conclusion
Throughout the semester, I felt that I could have deviated from the main research topic and tried another one. If that were the case, I could have investigated how to find solutions for the adults that practice violence against children. This is because it has more captivating issues to talk about, and their research methods appeared to be easy. On balance, they are all human beings, and this means that they have feelings. Any manner they behave may be as a result of something deeper that they are going through in their lives. Therefore, more people should be involved in this direction. It would be like uprooting a root from the soil rather than just cutting the stem that is what most people are doing regarding the issue.
