Patient satisfaction refers to the contentment that a patient gets after having visited a medical facility. It could be a warm smile by the receptionist or a conversation with a polite nurse. Managers at a medical group should focus on patient satisfaction because patients make their decisions based on first impressions. If patients are not satisfied with the services they get, they are not likely to come back. Satisfaction surveys are important in a medical group because they allow medical practitioners to gain an insight into the small things that they are not doing right and which could be driving patients away. Satisfaction surveys also help medical facilities to identify areas of weakness that need to be improved.
