What does poetry which is Anonymous “Western Wind” mean?

Though Western Wind is a very short love poem by an anonymous person, it carries weighty matters about love and life. This poem brings out the frustration that the writer is undergoing to a point of involving Christ in the issue. Frustration comes out clearly after putting a comma, indicating a pause after Christ. He connects Godly things with his human desires. Rain and wind bring with them joy and refreshment and the writer yearns for this joy in his heart. This joy can only come when his or her lover returns. Out of desperation, he or she calls unto Christ to save the situation and bring back his or her love just the same way that the ‘small rain’ down here on the Earth can rain, return of his or her lover will have the same effects and it will rain joy into his or her life. The meaning of this poem is desperation that comes with love. This comes out clearly, as the writer makes it a prayer to Christ to bring back his or her love and get to bed together. This poetry also brings out the issue of dependency of human beings to a higher power, that is, God.
