Michael Charles Jackson was born in 1976 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He grew up in the same place and attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and Immaculate Heart of Mary Elementary School. After elementary school, he attended Molo Middle School and graduated from Washington Marion Magnet High School in 1994. While in middle school and high school. Additionally, in middle school, he was in the National Junior Honor Society, and in high school was a member of the school band. He joined the football team in his sophomore year and played as a full back and linebacker. Michael was offered several scholarships after graduation but had to stay back in Lake Charles since his child was to be born shortly after he completed his senior year. Under the circumstances, he started attending McNeese State University in Lake Charles. Michael opted to major in nursing but was not serious about college, which made him be put on probation and subsequently suspended after the first year. After one year, he attended a barber school and got a barber’s license. He started working as a barber and committed himself to attend college again under his parents’ pressure. But this time, he changed his major to process plant technology since he felt that all those who worked in chemical plants at Lake Charles were well off and were leading a comfortable life. Michael completed their studies at McNeese University in more than the average time, given the work that he was doing alongside. In 2002 he received his degree in process plant technology and got a job as a chemical operator in Houston, where he relocated in 2003. It was from here that Michael started doing better in life. He rejoined college for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering Technology specializing in process plant management. After receiving this degree next year, Michael will have the opportunity to better his career prospects by moving up into the management cadre. He will be able to earn more money while having the authority and competency to make crucial decisions. While at Houston, Michael has worked with three different plants and gained his salary with every change. He has also been fortunate to build his own house in Houston. The passing away of his mother on April 14, 2007, was a big jolt to Michael and made him very sad. However, Michael is happy in his current job, where he has been working for two years and earns $32 an hour. He has no intention to change careers since his employers have agreed to bear the expenses for his college degree. He earnestly hopes to complete the degree successfully so that he can make more money and provide better for his family in the future. He was pleased when his son was born on February 15, 2007.
