Starbucks is aimed at the international market, which allows it to respond to any market changes quickly. This company includes a matrix organizational structure formed by combining a linear and program-target structure. Following the linear structure, management is built vertically: divisions are created that manage individual areas of activity – production, sales, supply, etc. Following the program-target structure, the horizontal direction is carried out – program and project management, that is, the main task is to develop programs (Cristóbal & Dias, 2018). In addition, this company has a third organizational structure called functional. That is, Starbucks has a CEO and heads of separate areas. Such a combined system allows not only to be transformed quickly in the event of any market changes but also to correctly distribute responsibilities and responsibilities between the heads of the directions and their subordinates.
To ensure the security of the business, it is necessary to comply with certain factors. Such factors include introducing information security into the central business processes, creating a technical team, and having knowledge of threats and risks. The introduction of information security implies risk assessment when developing applications for companies or products that the company puts on the market; for example, Starbucks has created an application that allows consumers to save stars for purchases and receive bonuses. It is necessary to ensure the security of this application so that customers cannot receive these stars through any program code, but only by making purchases in the company’s coffee shops.
The technical team of specialists is necessary to promptly and competently respond to threats that the company may receive. A trained team of specialists will be aware of possible dangers and will be able to quickly prevent them so that the company’s work system is not disrupted. Knowledge of threats and risks is also a necessary factor for the normal functioning of the company, as they require control and the development of specific work models to prevent them and prevent them in the future. In addition, it is necessary to know not only about the current facts of risk and threats but also about potential ones to stop them even before they enter into force.
