Introduction
The SMART goal of the intervention is to allow nurses in the psychiatric department to develop competencies in finding balance in interactions with patients and set personal boundaries to avoid burnout during the three months. Even though it is challenging to evaluate the results of the intervention, nurses can complete self-reports about their attitudes and states.
Main body
The measurement includes the ability of the psychiatric nurse to minimize emotional pressure from working with patients and their satisfaction with life and employment (Kalaitzidis & Jewell, 2020). The objective measure, in this case, is the increased retention level among nurses. These ways of working with the employees are not innovative in most hospitals, but they are effective. The manager should collect the results of self-reports and the retention rate statistics after three months of the experiment.
The internal unit stakeholders that should be considered are the department manager and psychiatric nurses. Before goal setting, the opinion of nurses should be gathered, and then it should be analyzed and articulated clearly during goal setting. After that, the education of nurses concerning the ways to preserve emotional stability should begin. The external unit stakeholders within the psychiatric department include patients. They are a vital source of information before and during goal setting (Godzik, 2019). After that, patients continue to communicate with nurses as usual, and it is the responsibility of the healthcare professionals to filter their emotions.
Conclusion
Therefore, the aims of the intervention that are clearly stated are vital in developing the optimal solutions that ensure success. It is essential to remember that patients do not need to change their behavior towards nurses because the inability to preserve the work-life balance is the nursing staff’s fault. Practical goal setting helps ensure project success during an implementation because the aims are evident to every participant. All nurses understand what they are trying to achieve and the practical steps they should undertake to improve the situation.
