The supply chain for the Big Mac has agricultural beginnings among self-employed farmers and large farms producing meat, vegetables and herbs. The next step is the distribution of raw materials to processing plants. They are engaged in the manufacture of the type of goods necessary for the company and the processing of raw materials. After that comes the stage of inbound transportation and loading of goods into trucks. Then the goods are sent to the distribution center of the company. There they are loaded into vehicles for subsequent outbound transportation. The final stage is the unloading of goods in the chain restaurant.
The gasoline supply chain can be characterized using five steps. The first stage involves the production or import of the raw product (Saedinia et al., 2019). This chain can include directly the import of gasoline. The next step is the processing of the crude oil into gasoline. Delivery of the product to the distribution terminal where it is mixed with ethanol. After that, the resulting mixture is distributed to gas stations.
For cars, spare parts and consumables are delivered by a logistics operator to the main distribution center of a transnational automotive corporation. From the main center, auto parts are shipped into containers or onto trailers and, with the help of forwarding companies, are sent to regional distribution centers. From regional centers, auto parts are delivered to dealers with the help of logistics companies. At the auto dealer, the supply of auto parts goes to the car service warehouse. The textbook supply chain starts with a logging company, after which the logs are sent for processing.
The next step is to cut the paper into sheets. After that, the paper is sent to the printing house for printing. Finished sheets with information are stitched together. The logistics company picks up the goods and delivers them to the store. At the same time, repair of cars can be called a candidate for offshoring, since it is implemented by a certain company. A textbook is a candidate for outsourcing, since the implementation of the product requires the involvement of a third-party logging organization.
