Understanding SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being
Sustainable goals are essential for societies and countries’ even and proper development. Goal #3, “Good Health and Well-being” of Sustainable Development Goals, aims to ensure all people have access to quality healthcare services (UNDP 2023b). This applies particularly to psychological assistance and assistance in getting rid of injuries after global tragedies.
Health care is extremely important for establishing a sustainable and developed society. This goal can lead people to pay more attention to their health and seek help promptly. Thus, providing more people access to health care will create a more equal, tolerant, and inclusive society.
Case Study in Action: Real-World Implementation of SDG 3
One of the most significant facts about this industry is that 400 million people have access to basic health care (UNDP 2023c). This program aims to help improve the state of the healthcare system and provide as many people as possible with access to healthcare. One of the goal targets associated with the case is to increase resilience by developing healthcare and attracting qualified specialists to the field. In the second stage, the organization strives to achieve this goal and reduce the regions in which people do not have access to medicine.

The case study focuses on how an organization helps improve the lives of people around the world. Sustainability is one of the main goals of the UNDP, and accordingly, they are making great efforts to develop this area in different countries. As shown in Figure 1, the organization protected 1 million jobs, a significant number. This significantly impacts how countries develop and how people can get better health care through employment.
In addition, UNDP provides broad support for gender issues around the world. This is reflected in the fact that more than 43 countries received support on issues related to gender-based violence (Figure 1). In this way, the organization can successfully promote policies of equity and inclusiveness while helping various developing countries resist outdated methods of building society.
Providing essential services in health and non-health areas is integral to UNDP’s work. According to Figure 1, the organization has provided 71 million people with access to basic services that make their lives easier. In addition, an essential aspect of the development of sustainability is the provision of jobs for people. The organization secured jobs for 3 million people in different countries (Figure 1). This will help make their lives more comfortable and give them access to various necessary means to improve their well-being.
Challenges, Achievements, and Sustainability in SDG 3
This case study is consistent with sustainable development, examining key UNDP actions to achieve sustainability. This allows you to explore possible barriers and challenges, as well as the methods used by the organization in achieving sustainability goals. Despite the high success rates discussed above, the organization faces some challenges in its work (UNGC 2023).
Ensuring a healthy lifestyle and promoting the well-being of people is one of the organization’s primary goals. In this regard, some methods have been developed to help them achieve their goals. For example, to reduce maternal mortality, UNDP aims to attract qualified doctors who must attend childbirth and postnatal care (UNSD 2022). This also requires the establishment of infrastructure for ancestral homes or hospitals to facilitate people’s access to health services. To this end, the target is to reduce neonatal mortality, which can occur due to conditions of poor medicine (UNSD 2022).
The challenges associated with these goals include the large amounts of funding needed to build hospitals and provide them with professional doctors. Thus, the organization must attract many sponsors to allocate resources. The organization has successfully achieved many objectives despite the obstacles encountered. For example, according to Figure 1, 750,000 women have gained access to health recovery and support programs. This can have a positive impact on the mortality rate of women after childbirth, as well as the well-being of newborns.
