Functions
Today, air traffic control performs several vital functions without which aviation would not function. These include ensuring aircraft separation, issuing clearances and instructions, and monitoring weather conditions and other hazards (Lin, 2021). At the same time, the ATC system is involved in commercial flights with many passengers and the private and military sectors. Thus, this communication system allows all possible areas of aviation to function.
Challenges
The main problem that the air traffic control system is currently facing is the increasing number of aircraft. Such a spread of travel with the help of this transport can significantly complicate the existing algorithms for managing air flights. Instructors responsible for coordinating aircraft operations must improve their skills to avoid critical errors in scheduling flights from different airlines (Lin, 2021). This may require implementing new standards in this area of flight management.

Thus, operators who help carry out flight control must regularly solve many complex tasks to prevent critical accidents. The field of flight management requires constant innovation to improve control and help more pilots.
