Characteristics Relevant for Ethical Group Placement

There are several ethical and cultural issues that need consideration before placing a person in context of counseling based on American counseling association (Perera & MacCluskie, 2012). This is a person who must help groups of diverse backgrounds; this councilor must have many qualities and characteristics to work with the targeted group. Understanding the entire group is important. He/she must have a clear knowledge of the group and ready to deal with their culture. Various individuals come with different believe and cultures, for trainers to work with that group, willingness and readiness to adjust is thus important.

Experience of the councilor is also imperative. He must understand various ways of conflict resolution and vital experience in decision-making. Dealing with cultures of different backgrounds and trying to bring them together needs to have a vast experienced person. During this time, he/she encounters several challenges from these diverse groups. Since their ways of doing things are different, proper understanding thus become a necessity (Perera & MacCluskie 2012).

Gender roles for the involved parties also vary, depending on each community, knowing how to resolve any dispute from these diverse groups helps concellor in numerous conflict resolutions. Performance of persons is also based on the group placed. Research has shown that women do best when each they are left alone, that is in the company of other women. Women feel independent with fellow women, and the councilor should put this into consideration..

Client Preparedness for Group Participation

Level of desired and anticipated success plays a key role in deciding the group an individual falls. Each member placed in a group that best suits them, without meddling performance of other members. It is argued that when all members are active, their performance greatly improves as they help each other. The representative or the group leader must choose the group that brings the best out of the members (Perera-Diltz & MacCluskie 2012).

Appropriate client’s preparedness must be taken into account before one becomes a member of a particular group. This ensures the client is ready and has the right mindset and materials for the job that awaits them. Use of focus group discussion ensures great preparedness from the client. This allows them to gather wide knowledge gain views and exploration of stages of study. Throughout this stage, participants in the group acquire satisfactory information that plays an important role during the real process. Their understanding is greatly improved and their production greatly boosted. The client’s culture cannot be violated also when the moderator is adequately prepared (Lum, 2011).

Focus group interviewing also brings out the best out of the clients. Each one of them is able to give what each one feels about the topic; the general depth of the information obtained is of substance. Every group must also have a leader. This is the person in charge of that particular group and is responsible in foreseeing all the rules observed and cultural issues on any particular group protected.

Appropriate Utilisation of Clinical Supervision

Appropriate use of clinical supervision and cultural issues are a bigger challenge to the overseers. The interest of their clients and their bosses obliged. The law stipulates that it must always prevail, and in it being violated, the violator must assume full consequences of their actions (Lum, 2011). If the client gets harm through actions of the supervisor, he/she is then charged in a court of law. Supervisors must see their standards and still manage to offer the best services to their clients.

Cultural and ethical issues need observation in any organization to make sure proper conveyance of services in any organization. Different communities value their culture differently and all must also be respected (Lum, 2011).
