Introduction

For the most part of American history, Americans have classified themselves throughout a profoundly felt sagacity of divergence with Europe. According to the American point of view, the New World has stood in representative contrast to the Old one. Whether they criticized Europe’s associates or desired for its assets, Americans concurred that it was a polar contrary of the New World. They have generally disregarded that this vision of the relative between the USA and Europe appeared only regularly as the final result of one hundred and fifty years of the colonial epoch. Throughout most of that period, the colonists would have been astonished to think of themselves as staying intrinsically non-European.

Americanization of Europe

In accepted custom, the early emigrants to America are modernized by the glory of a daring trip to freedom. Criticized by Europeans for heterodoxy, subversion, scarcity, or transgression, they fled to a territory of religious freedom, political liberty, financial opportunity, and brotherly worship. It is a dignified legend, and similarly to most legends, not lacking some grounding in historical fact. Its perseverance, though, has had a bit more to do with arrogance than with history.

For Europeans, it depicted America as a land polluted by the dregs of the Old World; for Americans, it performed Europe as a territory of authoritarianism. Yet, most of the principal citizens of the New World during the superior part of the imposing epoch would not have identified themselves as the characters of such an appealing and sensational epic. For them, protection of their relations with Europe was not so much a responsibility as an inevitability: they did not regard themselves as American, anti-European by characterization.

With the issuing of President Bush’s Declaration of Strategic Priorities, an ecstatic eruption of gleeful expectation is removing from the whole of Europe. The USA aims to reconstruct our world “not just more protected but better” – an act that will be “maintained by confidence in the standards of liberation and the charge of a free humanity.” Bush aims “to expand the advantages of emancipation and opulence through the increase of American significances and material remunerations for good supremacy.” Conversation and conjecture abound. What will the new Americanized Europe look like?

Any country would not feel the results of Americanization more than Norway, long known for its immature regard for common accountability and justice. American charges will release Norway from the oppressive constraints of its social-democratic viewpoint. While some differences go on over the look of the New Norway, a common agreement on key alterations is shaping at the previous moment.

After more than fifty years of high-class, general, and equivalent healthcare behavior for all, Norwegians will assume the more stylish pay-as-you-go American scheme. The best medication will be preserved for those who can permit it. Those who will not be able will also unite a restricted service, for-profit WHO, or simply do without healthcare. Finally, who said healthcare was a right? It is a freedom for those who have received the right to pay for it. As an element of the same exhilarating alteration, Europeans will soon be forfeiting four to ten times more for their treatment drugs, fetching pricing in line with the American practices.

Cultural component

It is necessary to mention that culture has already, and probably would, further undergo significant changes. Thus, the whole world is watching American movies, and almost every teenager once dreamt of becoming a cowboy or head to Alaska to mine gold.

The world had forgotten where pizza really came from. Being popular in the USA, it has spread all over the world, and there are hundreds of pizza-houses in almost all European cities. The same is for McDonald’s. These have flooded conservative Grand Dame Europe and interrupted its classical architecture. American cuisine had an immense impact on the national European cuisines, and the tendency to cooking simplification occurred almost totally: businessmen refresh themselves with hamburgers, students have hot dogs for lunch, business ladies prefer dietetic chicken wings, and so on. Surely, every state is proud of its originally national dishes, but those may be afforded only in restaurants.

Conclusion

Lastly, American charges will facilitate Europeans to complete their real compulsions. Instead of wasting their tax finances on social programs, road repairing, bridges, and maintenance of educational agendas, the finances will be spent on protection. The EU will appear as a strong-armed force. That will eradicate the continual time and millions of dollars necessary to work in agreement with the rest of the world. Europe can turn all its attempts inner and not worry about obsessions like world scarcity, malady, environmental pollution, global warming, brutal totalitarianism, or starvation. If other states do not appreciate it, tough Like America, Europe will be an immaculate city of liberty on the outlying hill, requiring no one and observing out only for its own attentions.
