The two companies that will analyzed are AMN Healthcare and Alliance Healthcare Services, Inc. Both companies operate in the USA. The analysis of the companies will be based on the concepts of production, marketing, forecasting, supply and demand.
Alliance Healthcare Services is one of the well-known providers of outpatient radiation therapy and diagnostic imaging services. The company is focused on gaining high revenues and improving of the incorporated systems. The company applies the PET/CT, MRI and CT technologies with the help of its imaging departments, while the oncology department investigates the impact of radiation on the development of tumors.
Production
AMN Healthcare has been offering high quality services to many clients across the globe. The services have made the reputation of the company go higher on frequent basis, besides attracting others. Therefore, many products which are being produced and the services being offered have been appreciated from time to time by many loyal clients. The company has integrated service system and offers the services of skilled physicians and nursing staff. It is important to mention that the company offers only highly skilled staff who are trained on a regular basis to ensure high quality and match the hospital objectives and goals (Lubitz & Wickramasinghe 2006).
Alliance Healthcare Services is known as one of the major producers of diagnostic mobile imaging services and leading operators of fixed imaging centers. It operates more than 30 radiation therapy centers including around 15 stereo static radio surgery facilities. A number of these services are provided by various local community hospitals and partners. As a result, high-quality treatment can be achieved within a relatively short period (Lubitz & Wickramasinghe, 2006).
Marketing
AMN Healthcare has been one of the largest providers of comprehensive healthcare services. In addition, the company policies allow to come up with efficient workforce solutions. Being one of the leading providers of travel nurse services, locum tenens staffing and physician permanent placement services, AMN has been solving the issues arising in the course of working with clients for quite long. The company used to focus on one-on-one marketing in order to improve the customer base. Most of the organizations have found it useful when it comes to the provision of workforce.
Alliance Healthcare Services has real experience when it comes to the outsourcing medical information given its number of experts and professionals employed. Marketing in the company has been done in the past through internet as well as the use of marketing organizations. Print media has also been involved into the marketing campaign, which has ensured the expansion of the market base in the company.
Forecasting
It goes without saying that the prognoses for the two companies differ greatly. The forecast for the AMN healthcare services shows that the company is moving in the right direction. It is expected that, within the following 12 months, the share prices of the AMN healthcare services will see an upsurge (Wokutch 1999).
In the Alliance Healthcare services, the prices seem to be highly unstable, with a succession of rapid increases and fast downfalls. Before 2006, the company had been getting high revenues and maintaining high level of performance, but from 2006 up to 2011, the performance of the company took a turn for the worse. The situation is expected to be different in 2013 given the slight stability in 2012.

The supply and demand curves in both companies are different due to performances recorded. The graph above shows that the demand in the AMN healthcare services has been constantly increasing, which explains continuous improvement of the company performance.
