Introduction
It is hard to disagree that world history is full of miracles and magnificent facts, which are sometimes quite unbelievable. For instance, ancient Egypt, one of the greatest civilizations that numerous people still find interesting to study, was revered by the Greeks, and a famous historian, Herodotus, viewed this civilization as a tantalizing mystery (Anthony223, 2012). The purpose of this paper is to explore why ancient Egypt was so unique.
Insights into Egyptian Pyramids from Macaulay’s Documentary
Almost everyone is familiar with the Great Pyramid of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. In his informative documentary, Macaulay states that the Egyptian pyramids are the structures that amazed the Greeks and remain a wonder to tourists and scholars (Anthony223, 2012). According to the researcher, these pyramids are connected to the religious traditions and beliefs of the ancient Egyptians, as well as with their honoring of the dead and their kings (Anthony223, 2012).
Therefore, this civilization “has been powerful enough, ingenious enough, dedicated enough and organized enough to have erected such imposing monuments on the edge of this unforgiving desert” (Anthony223, 2012, 00:01:55-00:02:05). This is the reason it was so unique – the Egyptians managed to create such amazing and meaningful structures using their skills and abilities. They honored their deceased kings greatly, and how they expressed their respect and ensured the dead had everything they needed in their afterlife was remarkable.

To conclude, one may notice that the architecture and the religious beliefs were the primary elements that made the ancient Egyptian Civilization so unique. The ancient Egyptians not only managed to create significant settlements between the banks of the Nile and the edges of the desert but also made their civilization prosperous. The Greeks revered the architecture and beliefs of ancient Egypt, and the uniqueness of that civilization had a profound impact on the development of subsequent cultures.
