Apple’s Innovation
Apple is a significant technology brand with various products in various fields, from smartphones to social programs. A company’s innovativeness can manifest in many aspects through its products. The element of innovation can manifest itself in different dimensions that, to some extent, no longer relate to the company.
I can agree that Apple is no longer an innovative organization over the past year and a more extended period. Competitive pressure is manifested in the smartphone market from Samsung, which presents many devices in different price segments and from such a brand as Google. Looking at the situation from this point of view, the company’s latest presentation did not show any significant differences between smartphones and wearable gadgets. The only significant improvement is the new A17 Pro processor, which provides modern technology and a substantial increase in power (Apple, 2023). Thus, this innovation cannot give the users radically new scenarios for using the device.
Google’s Competition
On the competitive side, Google can be considered to have shown a significant breakthrough in the current generation of smartphones compared to previous iterations and other brands. One of the features, for example, is the deep integration of artificial intelligence into the phone system. It can answer some calls, assist with business and daily activities, and edit photos and videos in a way that completely replaces full-fledged applications designed for this purpose (Rakowski, 2023). This is the emergence of software innovation that makes the user experience more positive and convenient.
The innovation of Samsung products is less evident than Google, but it is also significantly noticeable in folding smartphones. They gain new improvements every year, from increasing the second display to eliminating the gap between the halves of the phone when folded, which has long been a drawback of the device (Samsung, 2023). At the same time, Apple’s latest presentation showed a minor update to the device line that occurs every year. In this regard, the organization is no longer an innovative company.
