The effect of Immigrants on income, employment, and productivity vary by career and industry. The American economy is dynamic and flaking thus creating several jobs to match its diversity.
Based on the evident positive impact that immigration has had to the American economy, it does not beat any logic to term immigration as bad to the US’ economy. As a result, following the inexplicable benefits witnessed out of immigration, American has been investing much on it to the level that it is currently out of control: it cannot do without immigrants.
Immigrants increase the production capacity of the economy by enhancing and stimulating investments opportunities besides promoting specialization. The increase in competence and output of the states’ economies hikes returns per worker. The immigration policy shows that fewer immigrants do high-skilled and professional jobs hence contributing positively towards labor and the US’ economy.
Immigrants also work hard, create jobs, and above all improve consumer economy by maintaining low consumer prices for the benefit of the Americans. Even though many people feel that immigrants diminish the job avenues of the American-born workers, the immigrants also fill most of the critical jobs that the American-born workers shun. Consequently, the US’ economy takes in the foreigners by increasing job chances rather than dismissing the employees born in America.
Notwithstanding, through flexible labor force scheme, employers can easily hire and fire immigrants compared to the U.S-born counterparts. In addition, availability of immigrants in the US translates to a higher output per worker. As a result, businesses amend their paraphernalia and structures to maximize the use of discounted labor offered by the foreigners.
Although immigrants are scattered almost everywhere in the US, there are no cases of harassment of the incoming group. Therefore, it makes no sense at all to view some segments of America as more anti-immigrants in relation to others. As the U.S’ residents, immigrants are entitled to basic needs such as security and healthcare.
As a result, they increase tax, revenues, fund social security, and Medicare programs. Besides, immigration increases average hours per worker besides reducing the skills per worker, effects, which are opposite and approximately equal on labor productivity thus posing insignificant danger on the economy.
It is possible to justify the notion that illegal immigration is out of control. First, employers often demand many immigrants who offer low skilled and cheap labor leading to the creation of black market because the demand for labor surpasses the legal supply. This is also possible because every employer wants to maximize his/her output with minimum input since the end justifies the means.
Businesses want to pay less for any legal labor. Consequently, illegal immigrants become victims of circumstances compared to legal laborers because they accept less pay thus paving ways to breach of promises and un-conducive working conditions due to fear of deportation should they breach the terms of employment. Therefore, it is the sole role of the federal government to provide recourses necessary to create a legal labor pool.
This government should also levy fines on any corporation that exploits illegal labor knowingly. Thirdly, there is mischief among the stakeholders and the political class. Finally, since the consumers want to spend the list possible amount, businesses strive to make their prices as low as possible in order to compete favorably. As a result, they end up investing in immigrants in a bid to maintain the goal of any business: to make profit.
People come from different social, economic, political, geographical, and religious backgrounds, and every individual strives to coexist and survive. Therefore, harassing immigrants without any justifiable reason makes no sense. It only spurs discrimination among races. Being anti-immigrant means fear, no education, and total suffering of the minority group. Such imagination does no good to the economy, which is very volatile. Therefore, the federal government has the responsibility of monitoring and tracking unwanted immigrants who threaten the economy and security.
