Introduction
A community is a group of people who share a common interest or identity and regularly interact to achieve a common goal. Communities are created to promote a sense of belonging and support each other in times of need. Communities can also serve as a platform for collaboration and collective problem-solving (Schneider, 2018). They can help foster relationships, provide resources, and create a sense of purpose and identity. It involves financial groups in a society that promotes the welfare of the residents. For example, Brazilian community associations are dedicated to strengthening and promoting the interests of the Brazilian business community.
Community Type
The Brazilian community is a hybrid community, operating both online and offline. Offline, Brazilian communities often form around cultural activities such as traditional music and dance performances, festivals, and other leisure activities. Brazilians can connect online through social media networks like Facebook and Twitter, online gaming, and other web-based discussion forums (Schneider, 2018). People in Brazil often share information, support each other in times of need, and generally stay connected with one another.
How the Community Members are Connected
A shared history, interest, and work connect the Brazilian community members. Historically, they trace their roots to the Portuguese colonization of Brazil in the 16th century. As a result, they share a strong cultural identity and are proud of their heritage. Additionally, many Brazilian community members are connected by their mutual interest in music, art, and cooking (Lucchetti et al., 2018). Brazilian music and art are well-known worldwide, and many Brazilians take pride in sharing their culture with others.
Mode of Interaction in the Community
Brazilian community members interact with each other on a daily basis through casual conversations and friendly greetings. These conversations often take place in public places like parks and cafes and can range from discussions about current events to simply catching up with one another (Lucchetti et al., 2018). Additionally, they interact through regularly scheduled meetings organized by local community organizations or can be arranged through a friend or family member. These meetings often involve group discussions, class presentations, or other social activities.

How I became Part of the Community
I became a part of the Brazilian community because of my love for Brazilian culture and language. I had always been interested in learning new languages and found Brazilian Portuguese to be an interesting and exciting language. After studying the language, I became more involved in the Brazilian community. I began attending Brazilian events, conversing with natives, and making new friends. Additionally, I started to take part in charitable projects and initiatives that helped the Brazilian community.
Gains Associated with Belonging to the Community
Belonging to a Brazilian community offers a variety of benefits. It provides a sense of belonging and identity, allowing individuals to feel connected to a larger group and their heritage. Being part of a Brazilian community also gives people access to social, cultural, and economic resources, such as language classes, cultural events, job opportunities, and other resources (Lucchetti et al., 2018). Generally, it can provide a support network of friends, family, and peers who share the same values, language, and culture.
Limitations in the Community
While the community shares various interests among its members, there are various limitations the individuals have. Firstly, the community discourages discussions surrounding poverty, politics and religion since they result to diversified viewpoints, which often might translate to insults. Secondly, the community is habitually late, where most people arrive at formal meetings 15 to 30 minutes late without worries (Lucchetti et al., 2018). Lastly, the community is more skeptical about foreigner’s opinions about Brazil. Some Brazilians perceive foreigners as people who hold negative thoughts, such as the carnival festival, about their community, meaning the community takes time before interacting with visitors.
How the community has Shaped Me
The Brazilian community has had a tremendous impact on my life and has shaped me in many ways. Growing up in a Brazilian household, I was surrounded by Brazilian culture, language, music, and food. This has helped me develop a strong pride in my heritage and a greater appreciation for its many unique cultural aspects. I have also learned the importance of family and community from the Brazilian community, and how to be part of a larger, supportive network. I have seen how the Brazilian community comes together in times of need, and the importance of helping each other out.
Ethics and Morality of the Community
Type of Ethics
The Brazilian community has an open and accepting ethical morality. The culture is rooted in hospitality, kindness, and generosity. Brazilians are also known for their inclusivity and tolerance of different cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs. This eases the integration of outsiders and welcomes them into the community (De Oliveira et al., 2019). The culture also stresses the importance of family and friends, which brings people together and strengthens social ties.
Community Treatment for Non-Members
The Brazilian community generally treats non-members with warmth and respect. Brazilians have a reputation for being very welcoming and open to visitors and new community members. Brazilians often take pride in introducing non-members to their country’s culture, customs, and traditions (De Oliveira et al., 2019). Non-members may be invited to join in celebrations or special events or simply be welcomed and accepted into the community. Brazilians are known for their hospitality and generosity.
Mode of Conversation with other Communities
The Brazilian community interacts with other communities through various digital and physical means. Through social media such as Facebook and Twitter, the community can share news, opinion, and experiences with others. Additionally, through online forums such as Reddit, the community can ask questions and engage in discussion with other global community members (Stefanini et al., 2021). On a more local level, physical events such as Brazilian festivals and parades provide a platform for community members to interact with one another in person.
Values the Community Encourage in Its Members
The Brazilian community values hard work, family, and perseverance. These values are encouraged in members because they are essential for achieving success and leading a fulfilling life. Hard work is valued because it is necessary for achieving success (Stefanini et al., 2021). Family is valued because it provides emotional and spiritual support and encourages people to stay connected with their heritage (Offe, 2019). Lastly, perseverance is valued because it is necessary to overcome obstacles and achieve goals. These values provide a framework for Brazilian members to live by and help them to reach their potential.
Conclusion
Being a member of the Brazilian community has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the culture, language, and unique customs of the country. It has also taught me to be proud of my heritage and to be open to the experiences that come with it. I have also come to understand the importance of friendship and community, the spirit of celebrating life, and the importance of staying connected with friends and family. Furthermore, it has inspired me to help others and to use my knowledge and skills to make a difference in the lives of others. Most importantly, being a part of the Brazilian community has taught me to be humble, to always respect others, and to take pride in my culture.
