Modern companies, particularly large ones, frequently meet with increased societal distrust because they adopt policies that prioritize profits over maintaining the support of the consumer base. Examples of such strategies include disingenuous marketing strategies, mistreatment of employees, and others. Ultimately, such tactics tend to lower the sustainability of the companies in question and lead to eventual financial difficulties.
The approaches employed in profit-oriented policies can be considered unethical. As such, conducting business with humanity in mind is both a way to ensure the prolonged success of a company and an ethical requirement for a modern company leader.
To me, business with humanity in mind means always putting the consumer first. Every product that a company puts out should be of the highest quality yet still priced reasonably. The workings of the enterprise should be transparent, and it should establish a mutual trust relationship with its customers. The adoption of corporate social responsibility guidelines is essential, including environmental protection measures and integration with the communities that the company interacts with regularly.
Nevertheless, one should not treat his or her employees as an abstract workforce, either. Workers are also humans and require a comfortable working environment and fair wages to achieve optimal productivity. The adoption of these guidelines will lead to a positive transformation for the company, which, in turn, will result in success.
I have worked in marketing for several years and have seen management from different perspectives. My duties have included direct interaction with consumers, social media promotion, and coordinating various employees as well as clients. These working experiences have allowed me to familiarize myself with the internal organization of a company and to gain insights into consumers both as a group and as individuals. Through analyzing the competition, I was able to evaluate the differences between the workings of various enterprises and determine the different effective strategies.
Examples of marketing strategies with humanity in mind, where I have worked recently, include avoidance of overpromotion and reasonable pricing. While spreading information is essential to the growth of an artist, word-of-mouth and independent discovery are the most effective ways to establish a consistent fan base. Aggressive promotion can lead to oversaturation, and the artist will lose popularity as soon as the campaign ends due to the lack of dedication from their followers and the perceived decline associated with the end of the promotional campaign. Price management is also vital, as promoted by a company artist’s works have more costs associated with them than an independent one’s yet should not cost significantly more to stay competitive.
My goal for the next five years is to become a higher-level marketing manager. I intend to specialize in advertising, and therefore I need to keep working in the field and amass experience with traditional and social mediums. I need to acquire experience working with different marketing strategies and adapting them to suit humanity-oriented guidelines. This way, I will gain experience and competencies that are necessary for me to occupy a higher management position.
