Introduction
When choosing a medical information system, one should be careful since there is a risk of choosing an advanced solution for a small clinic and overpaying for unnecessary options. On the contrary, implementing a program for a network of clinics with limited functionality is not enough. There are universal solutions that will suit everyone, but there are certain disadvantages, such as high cost. This paper is devoted to calculating the most favorable tariff, taking into account all the necessary functions of medical software.
Choosing the Best Medical Software Option
The medical software rates depend on the clinic size and the selected functionality. As a rule, there is a free trial period of 1 month, which will allow you to choose the most optimal software. As can be seen from Chart 1, the local version will cost 49 thousand dollars, and the subscription fee for access to the cloud will be 3900 dollars per month (Gerke 2283).
For 12 months with one free trial month deducted, the amount will be 42,900 dollars. These are pro versions for two jobs. The license for the right to use the software is perpetual, non-exclusive, without restrictions on the number of computers, and is 90 thousand dollars (Gerke 2282). Without buying an unlimited license, one has to pay extra for additional jobs: $9,000 for the desktop and $500 per month for the cloud (Gerke 2283).
The service will include basic options, and one will have to pay extra for additional functionality. The implementation of each of the additional services will cost 160 dollars (Gerke 2282). As seen from Chart 1, four additional services are necessary for the minimum convenience of using the program.
The first of them is the documentation as part of the user manual and the adaptation of the program to the customer’s requirements within 10 man–hours (Gerke 2283). In addition, one can use distance learning for economic and technical personnel to work with this program. When purchasing the program, one can order the installation and configuration of the program and related software on the laboratory servers and the customer’s computers without restrictions.
There is an option for a customer data processing service, including preparing and uploading customer data to the program directories for various positions. Among them are the price list, the structure of the organization, medicines and consumables, equipment, personnel, filling of codifiers and classifiers, setting up internal links, coefficients and standards, and setting up calculation forms. The last of the mandatory recommended additional services is the structuring of medical service models, cost calculation, and the cost of services.
Conclusion
Thus, the minimum total cost of medical support will be 107,040 dollars. Among them, 91,900 dollars will be the fee to purchase the software itself. From 160 to 15,140 dollars will be necessary to make one-time fees for program customization. From these main components, as well as the monthly subscription fee, the cost of medical software will be calculated and designed to streamline the clinic’s management.
