The Person of Christ
Today, I want to discuss Christ and what He did for us. The first accent will be on the personality of Christ, meaning that we can look at Him as a person, not just as a religious figure. Christ existed before His incarnation on earth: He was a model of incarnation – the perfect example of how a human should live. When He came to earth, He united divinity and humanity in a hypostatic union. This means He was entirely God and man in one person (Morgan & Peterson, 2020).
The virgin birth of Christ is another fantastic testimony to His divine nature. His life on earth was exemplary: He never sinned or did anything wrong. Even when the devil tempted him, He resisted the temptation and did not sin. As can be found in 1 Peter 2:22, Christ is the one “Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth.”
Although Christ was sinless, He died on the cross for us to be redeemed from our sins. His death was redemptive as He paid for people’s sins with His blood. His resurrection and ascension to heaven testify that He conquered death and opened the way to God for all people.
Christ’s promised return signifies the time when all people will be saved. The return time is unknown, so people should be ready for it at any point. As mentioned in Matthew 24:44, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
The Atoning Work of Christ
Now, I would like to dwell on Christ’s atoning work. He performed duties that no one else could achieve while also being our substitute and sacrificial altar, paying for our sins. His redemptive work was propitiatory as He showed us mercy and love, allowing us to be saved.
The expansion of His redemptive work is that He saves all who come to Him in faith. His work is based on God’s grace and love for his people. Due to His atoning work, we can have confidence in our salvation and eternal life with God.
The main goal of Christ’s redemptive work is our salvation. God sent His only Son, Christ, to save people from sin, which enabled us to reach communion with God and enjoy eternal life in Him. Christ’s atoning work takes various forms, one of the most prominent being the victory over Satan and death.
However, the primary goal of redemption is the salvation of people’s souls. The ultimate extent of atonement is that those who follow Christ will be saved. As can be referred to in Romans 8:10, “And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.”
Summary
In conclusion, Christ is not only a religious symbol or historical figure but a living proof that can transform people’s lives. If we acknowledge Him as our Savior and adhere to His teachings, we can discover true meaning and purpose, secure forgiveness for our sins, and gain eternal life in harmony with God. I hope my speech has helped you better understand Christ and His atoning work.
He gave His life for us so that we could receive eternal life in Him. If you have not accepted Him as your personal Savior yet, I urge you to do so as soon as possible. He is waiting for everyone to open their hearts to Him and let Him become the Lord and Savior of everyone’s life.
